Rush to Escape is Rushville’s #1 (and only) escape room. Our group of 4 seasoned players made the trip up from Indianapolis and I thought it was worth the hour drive. The concept is that you are working in a kitchen that has a health inspector coming and you need to clean up the kitchen as well as prepare dinner for a food critic that can make or break your business. Before you walk into the room, you’re offered the option to “dress the part” with provided aprons (with each apron having a different role - head chef, busboy, etc.) and a chef hat. The set itself felt like a real kitchen and the puzzles were all centered around making the correct meal for the critic. The puzzles ranged in difficulty. I didn’t find any of them to be too difficult, so I feel like this could be a good room for kids or families. Most of the puzzles were pretty easy to infer how to complete. We used a few clues that we realized after we got it that it made sense. There were no red herrings or anything that made us spin our wheels. Our group was able to complete the room with over 15 minutes left, so I think this would be a great room for any skill level. I think our group of 4 was the perfect size - some of the rooms are a bit small to fit everyone in, so I wouldn’t recommend this for bigger groups, but I think a smaller group of 2-3 would also be able to complete the room! Overall, I had a great time with this room! It was a lot of fun with a unique concept and puzzles that made sense with the storyline of the room. There were some fun elements and surprises that we enjoyed.
Very unique room that our group of seasoned players enjoyed. A lot of the puzzles were concurrent, so there wasn’t much of a flow.
All of the props, puzzles, and set made sense in terms of the story. Loved that we each had roles in the kitchen.

Most of the game was locks but there were a few high tech /triggered puzzles.

The rooms are pretty small. We played with a group of 4 and thought it was the perfect amount.

Street parking as the business is in a downtown of a small town. We had no issue grabbing a spot directly outside.

Rating: 4/5 Fun room, it's a charming and cute small town room. I love food so it's a great combination of two of my passions. It's my favorite room so far that I've played in Indiana (almost 30) though it doesn't make my top rooms out of ~80 total around the US. It was worth our 1 hr drive from Indianapolis. It's definitely worth a detour if you're driving between Indianapolis and Cincinnati. Pros: -Fun variety of puzzles -Felt like we were actually cooking and preparing food, all the puzzles fit the theme -Very tactile, tons of props to play with -Goal based (cooking recipes) as opposed to just escaping -Nice, cute set with real kitchen items that made if feel realistic -A couple cool reveals I haven't seen yet in 80+ rooms -Friendly, helpful game master Mixed feelings: -Very lock and number puzzle heavy, only some tech, but the game was fun so that makes up for this -Very non-linear, a lot to do at the same time so the flow wasn't good. This makes it kind of chaotic, but real kitchens can be like that so it fits the theme. I also felt like I didn't get to experience or see a lot of the puzzles since we were all working on different things the whole time. Cons: -None We had a group of 4 enthusiasts and finished with about 16 min left and used a couple clues, We were all actively working on puzzles the whole time, so it may be difficult for a group of 2. Some areas of the room are a bit tight so I wouldn't want more than 5-6.

The final puzzle took a couple of attempts before it triggered properly, but it wasn't a big deal.

This room was awesome. It is definitely in my top five of all rooms we have done. The set design was great. All of the clues and props work perfectly with the theme and kept the entire team busy the whole time. It is well worth the hour-long drive from indianapolis. Highly recommend and will come back for any new room they create

Kitchen themed room where you need to make a 6 course meal to satisfy the food critic. Lots of fun tasked themed puzzles that work well for kids with adult supervision. Gen 3 room with a nice array of electronics but strategically placed locks. Overall a great experience and highly recommended
