Dr. Rodentstein, a slightly mad scientist with an obsession for cheese and rats, has developed an escape room to test the wit and prowess of human brains. This maze of puzzles and challenges is no ordinary lab; it’s riddled with cheesy puns and ratty challenges, designed to test the squeakiest of minds. Dr. Rodentstein believes that, much like his lab rats, humans have an innate desire to seek out cheese (or in your case, freedom!). But beware, his labyrinth won’t just let you scurry out easily. To prove your team’s worth, you must navigate the intricate puzzles, crack the codes, and retrieve the ultimate prize: The Golden Cheese. But it won’t be easy, as Dr. Rodentstein has set up a series of puzzles and challenges that will test your team’s sharp wit. Only the most gouda players will escape in time!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the “Escape Games” in the Don’t Panic store…but this was a solid escape experience…just not a multi-room one like most of their other games. Family friendly, fun premise.
Diane (and all The Panic Room staff) were amazing and kind!

A pretty small room, so I think more than three and it would feel crowded. Multiple puzzles can be worked on simultaneously, so I’m feeling two players is about right.

Not broken, per se, but there was a puzzle involving a piece of fabric that could have used some updating (and would literally cost less than £5 to do so)

Mostly accessible…there was one puzzle that was printed so faintly it added a challenge that wasn’t fun.

We proved we were a tiny weeny bit more intelligent than rats- but only just! Solve the colour coded puzzles to open the padlock, the release the rat to unlock the golden cheese. This is a small room which has some quick hit puzzles- & some which take a tiny bit more brain power! The clue system is cool in that it is self administered. Maybe that what helped us triumph over the rats, given that they can’t read?!

You’re humans competing against rats who were in the same room earlier.

The wall furniture hadn’t been reset, one of the cupboards opened when it shouldn’t have which released items we used but not properly as we were missing one, and a number on the board was incorrect, which prompted the GM to have to come in & tell us the correct number. This was a shame as it was a cool theme, a bit unusual, but these things took the shine off the room. To be fair, the room only opened today so the staff maybe aren’t used to resetting it yet & hopefully it’ll get better in time.
