Being my first escape room, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the game master made it extraordinary. From the start, he set the stage perfectly with a captivating preview and backstory of the character (Thurston). It really pulled us into the story, creating an immersive atmosphere that added so much depth to the game. Each room itself was different. Every puzzle felt purposeful and thoughtfully designed. The incorporation of technology was so cool! We encountered gadgets and effects that blew us away and made every reveal that much more exciting. It was clear that a lot of effort went into making the room interactive and realistic. If you’re looking for an escape room that has it all, this is absolutely the place to go. I walked in as a first-timer and left as a huge fan. Highly recommend to anyone in Central Ohio.

In each corner of every room, there was a small figurine named Charlie that would come to life with hints whenever we were stuck. It was such a clever and engaging touch for a game guide.

We really enjoyed this room! It was a fun mix of traditional lock & key puzzles as well as tech driven ones. There were a few elements used that I’ve never seen in any other room, including the hint mechanism. Definitely worth a play! The room is a good balance of fun and difficulty. It was challenging enough to keep us thinking and having fun but no puzzles that made us frustrated or felt illogical.

Magician’s Secret was an amazing experience! The room was beautifully designed, with clever puzzles that perfectly balanced challenge and fun. The time limit was spot-on, giving us just the right amount of urgency without feeling rushed. The staff were professional, friendly, and provided hints at just the right moments. Overall, it was a well-organized, immersive escape room that left us feeling accomplished and entertained. Highly recommend!

One of the best escape rooms in the Columbus area--not to be missed for escape room enthusiasts! It's very clear this game was built by someone with a passion for game design. All of the props and puzzles are hand-made, unlike the cookie cutter games you can expect from most escape room franchises. The puzzles aren't overly challenging, but their unique design leads to some clever and unexpected solutions. I'm very eager to see more games from Magic Escape Rooms.

Columbus is lacking in great escape rooms. For the area, this is a gem, but even in a strong escape room area this would make a good showing. It's not particularly difficult or long (the rooms are only 48 minutes long, not the traditional 60, as they are a small business and running rooms on the hour and need time to reset). I do wish they would add a few more puzzles to bring it up to the traditional 60. That said, it would probably be tough to do so as they're not working with a ton of space (although they used what space they had fairly well). Everything made sense and was well-constructed, and they even had a few puzzles that I'd never seen before in over 70 escape rooms done. My ONLY complaint was that sometimes the audible instructions were difficult to hear. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to more of their rooms opening!

Room was originally not reset correctly as game master was off sick and the room owner was running it. But, quickly fixed and we were given more time.

Audible instructions were sometimes tough, but always repeated when asked for.
Yes
Yes, but a bit tricky; it's on the fifth floor of a downtown building, and you have to get buzzed in.
Medium
No private lot. This is downtown, so find street parking or a garage (which are luckily plentiful, but you'll have to pay for it).
