The Chosen

Our family of 4 is closing in on 25 rooms done between VA Beach and Richmond. This location is among the best (we’ve done the magical miscalculation here too). This room especially is among our favorite 5 or so. I won’t say much other than it’s pretty nonlinear most of the way with funnel points to love on. We have two kids that are great at rooms but still require rehashing clues and puzzles multiple times. I’d say the puzzles were straightforward and we managed to escape (barely) but as a family we tend to get unfocused. I wouldn’t rank it as hard for anyone experienced but it still feels packed for the 90 minutes. First room we did more than an hour and I’d say it was needed but things kept moving. Lots of mechanical locks but the requirements to solve the codes are where the unique turns come in. And many requirements are unique. Highly recommended. If you’re squeamish, you’ll only be fighting your own mind.

This room has become one of my recent favorites. The staff were friendly. The puzzles were fun and complex but not frustrating. The room itself and overall experience was very immersion. Thank you Jeff and Team!

Amazing escape room. I like that they had bits that were for the story, instead of everything being obviously only for puzzles and clues. It really made the setting and room believable. We also told the owner that one of the people playing didn’t like scary things so he told us what to avoid so there were no jump scares. I’m so excited for the yeti.

Absolutely amazing escape room. We have done over 50+ over many states and the effort, effects, puzzles, and atmosphere here was unparalleled. It was scary and immersive. We definitely will do all the rooms here and keep the location of the radar for future rooms. There's nothing is disliked other than I cant erase my memory and do it again

9.8/10 This game was AMAZING! Really well done puzzles. We missed some obvious things, but everything made sense. It definitely felt like an adventure. I’m glad we had some extra time to soak in the atmosphere. Nothing particularly scary, just creepy and full of gore. I love everything this company is doing.

I do escaped rooms all around the world and this was definitely in my top five companies that I enjoy. Well done!!

Our entire experience at Curtain Calls was amazing! The two owners we met were so sweet and we got to geek out over escape rooms we have done. The room itself was really cool! A lot of interesting clues and it was the perfect balance of challenging and logical. We will absolutely be back and will recommend this company and their rooms to anyone asking for a good room to go to in Norfolk/Virginia Beach.

The plot is a lot clearer here on Morty than it was in the game. Oh, so that's what we were doing! A well-executed rendition of the standard "oh wait this is a cult?!" fare. Some good puzzles and some random "isn't this convenient" combo lock solutions. A 90-minute experience, which is rare in this market. You could do it in under an hour if you speed, but we took our time and got out with 15 minutes remaining. A neat surprise at the end of the game where everyone gets to "leave his mark"... Glad I played here - looking forward to Yeti on my next trip through!

Was definitely Top 3 on my list in the Hampton Roads area.

Room was scary but super fun. A really good challenge! Will definitely want to try again later.
