The aesthetic and scale of A Knight to Escape are undeniably impressive. The massive footprint and deeply immersive castle set design make it a visually stunning experience from the moment you step inside. The split-room setup offers a fantastic conceptual foundation, heavily relying on mechanics that demand the kind of intense team communication that usually makes for a top-tier game, forcing both sides of the wall to constantly collaborate to progress. However, the gameplay and overall flow are noticeably average, which keeps the experience from reaching its full potential. Several puzzles suffer from obscure design, lacking clear logical connections or signposting between the clues and their corresponding locks, which leads to a lot of frustrating trial and error. Furthermore, one particular puzzle completely stalls the game’s momentum; it is incredibly tedious and repetitive. The underlying concept of that specific task is fine, but it could have been executed just as effectively with half the props rather than unnecessarily padding out the clock. Adding to the frustration was a notable maintenance issue. We wasted a significant amount of time searching for a piece to "fit" into a specific prop, only to be told at the very end of the game that the prop was broken and no longer in use. Failing to clearly indicate that a set piece is out of play made an already disjointed puzzle flow significantly more confusing. Ultimately, it is a beautiful, ambitious room with a great communication premise, but the puzzle logic, pacing, and maintenance clarity need significant refinement to match the quality of the set.

Such a fun large room. This might have been the longest (time based) room we've done as a larger group and the variety and complexity/collaboration needed to solve a good deal of the puzzles really warrants the longer time The footprint is very immersive, the flow is good, the variety of tasks are fun and some require some noodling to solve. If you were ever looking for a good professional, team building room - this is the one for you. They really nailed the need for good communication between both teams (split room). The design did not make that frustrating and it was easy to hear and pass items as needed. Really a well done room. We played it in April of 2026 and the technology and items all are in really good condition. Great room and staff - highly recommend. The theming and split room was extremely fun. A couple puzzles did not flow and we did not like our game master as them seems ed to nudge us alot when we had more than enough time. The final puzzle was one of the best I've ever seen!

Did not care for this room. There were problems with the room not being set up. Game master had to stop us from doing the game, did not pause the time, and reset the rooms we were in. Just did not enjoy.

Gameplay

Flowed well at first. Game play just got tedious and frustrating as the pieces did not make sense.

This was a well done room but definitely need to go with a team that knows how to communicate and not give up or just stand around on the other side. Deff have to pay attention to more than just the obvious. Would have passed if I could have played with just my wife but you need minimum 4 players to get through.

This is one of the best games I’ve ever played! (Current Morty Score 63). The integration of mechanical puzzles and well concealed sensor/high tech puzzles never broke the immersion of a Medieval experience. The 2-hour time limit really let us get into the experience, and the high level of communication between the separated teams was so much fun! Definitely do this with at least 2 strong communicators, one for each side, as most of the game is played in separate rooms with teams of two.

This game was an awesome combination of both! There was beautiful mechanical showset, but the high tech puzzles were well hidden and integrated into the theme. (Think hidden sensors and triggers, not lasers or screens)
