Kidnapping 2: Afraid of the Dark

Worst escape room experience of my entire life. Solidified a distaste for Breakout. After getting lightheaded and nervous, my girlfriend had to step out because she thought she may pass out bc of fear. As the description says the whole point of this room is it begins in complete darkness. When she left I attempted to open the door to go help her before the worker told me not to open the door and ruin it for everyone. So I assumed that staff would be out there to help her. Once the lights come on I come outside to find her alone crying in the hall with no help. Nobody ever came to check on her and they even got frustrated with her as we left. Will probably never play another game at breakout

We have done an entire escape room in complete darkness before so we probably have a leg up on the other reviewers. There was one puzzle I remember that was frustrating and then super obvious once our GM helped us. Overall liked the room and would recommend it! But like other reviewers said, not for first time escape room people. The company and its workers were fantastic though and convinced us to do this room while we were on an escape room vacation. This location has a couple other rooms worth doing as well!

I didn’t do this room but Luka did. 7 out of 10.

Had a ROUGH time with this. Not “fun”. Very dry and puzzle oriented. Not a hard room at all just make sure you have more than two people so you can find the necessary things you need to find so you’re not wondering around in the dark forever.

The room is very unique as far as rooms I have done! Starting in complete darkness makes the first stages a very different type of challenge, and I agree with the other review that this is not for a first time group. Not a full on horror game, but my scaredy-cat-ass still got scared on a couple of occasions. The puzzles all make sense and flow nicely. Highly recommend for experienced players, and for a close group of friends (as the darkness leaves a lot of space open for suprise-based antics!)

I would definitely recommend to experienced escapers but not for first timers. It was very challenging due to being in total darkness for at least the first 15 minutes. The game flowed well and puzzles were well thought out.
