At the top of a hill, at the far edge of town, Stands a house where a family, was once happily found. The brickwork is crumbling, the paint is all peeled, The windows are boarded, and the front door is sealed. The grass is all dead, as if ravaged by drought. No one goes in, and no body comes out. But on a very clear evening, if your view is just right, If you squint and look carefully, you might see a light. At the tippety top of the rickety tower, Swings the loneliest lantern, and it burns for one hour. No one knows how it gets there, or who puts it out, But it indicates someone, or something’s about. And up at the peak, in a thick misty shroud, Brews a storm that’s becoming alarmingly loud. A dark cloak of droplets, punctured by brightening, A clap, and a boom! And mad stabs of lightning! The thunderclouds creep, t’ward the town more each night, And slowly, our hamlet’s succumbing to fright. And when the squall passes, if none of you speak, You can listen, and hear what begins as a shriek. It pierces the moonlight and rattles your bones, And as fast as it comes, it descends, into moans. It carries for miles, scares each man, child, and mouse, Is something alive in that creaky old house? A prisoner? A monster? A criminal kind? There’s no hint and no clue, no suggestion nor sign. So please, take a look, And see what you find, In the abandoned estate, Of one Franklin, N, Stein

Puzzles 🧩: 9/10 Set/Wow Factor ✨: 8.5/10 Story/Immersion 🔮: 8.5/10 Fun Factor 🤘: 9/10 At last, our Kingston excursion, with four games in line, We started with Miseries of Franklin N Stein! The story was lovely, the theme was a treat, Immersed in the tale from the very first beat. The puzzles were varied and quite a delight, Using senses and logic to get them all right. With hands-on mechanics and itches to scratch, Each clean, unique answer was an excellent match. The whole game flowed smoothly, a joy to work through, You can split up the tasks or work close with your crew. We highly recommend you give this one a play, A fantastic escape to kick off a great day! Extra notes: The board game cafe and the bar are a dream, With food, easy parking, and such a great team! Inclusivity and accessibility kept clearly in mind, A community this supportive is a gem of a find!
Although the game was non-linear, our group of three managed to work on one puzzle at a time together and finish on time.

Mysterious Miseries is a puzzle game through and through. Multilinear, multidimensional. An overarching theme and well done cinematics. I enjoyed it quite a bit! Definitely a divide and conquer room. Satisfying puzzling, great through line, and a fun storybook theme brings out the joy and whimsy. And where would we be without whimsy?? We had a great time at Improbable and will definitely be back the next time we're in town!

What a fun room! The theming was excellent but the star of the show was the puzzles! So many puzzles, so much variety, and they challenged pretty much all the senses. A frantic multi-linear experience that's great for teams that like to divide and conquer or allocate puzzles based on individual strengths. Plenty of highlights and a must-play for puzzle lovers visiting or passing through Kingston.

We played a couple rooms at this location and this one was our favourite (although they were all great)! The room was beautifully designed, the puzzles were fun and creative, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We had an amazing experience from start to finish!
There were a ton of puzzles (we were told there were over 40)! They were all pretty fun though and fit well with the room's theme. It had some unique puzzles that we've never done before; for example, one puzzle required us to use our noses to smell different scents.
The atmosphere was outstanding! Each room was thoughtfully decorated with incredible attention to detail and the special effects made it really immersive.
Our game master, Pip, was awesome! They were really friendly and guided us through this room, along with 2 others. They had a ton of passion about escape rooms, even showing us how they'd reset one of the rooms we had completed and recommending their favourite escape rooms. They went above and beyond and made our experience truly exceptional!

It was mostly high tech but had a few puzzles that used traditional locks.

We did it as a duo, which was a bit challenging due to there being so many puzzles to complete.

A really family friendly and spooky game. I thought there was a lot of really great moments and satisfying wins. Happy to still give a thumbs up as the bones of the game was great. However, unfortunately we were met with multiple tech malfunctions and immersion breaking issues. The host was really friendly about it but it was very evident that we weren’t getting the usual experience of the game which was a real shame as I had been anticipating this game for a while. Overall though a fun game with some nice puzzle surprises.
There was clearly a lot of love and effort put into the design of this game. I think the puzzle flow was really fun. Lots of easy wins with some great challenges thrown in.
After playing a lot of games with AI art inside it was so nice to see how much effort and care had gone into the design. I feel like there may have been a change to the lighting recently because the 2nd and 3rd space were super over lit and all the atmosphere was taken out of it. This felt like not the usual game lighting especially after Room One?

A friendly take on a classic horror. The puzzles constantly referenced the story and propelled the game forward.

I liked the puzzle design a lot. I think if you’re an enthusiast this is a really fun room. However I do imagine the amount of puzzles might overwhelm less experienced players.

Disappointingly lots of the tech didn’t active for us, including the end which was a real shame. I will say it seemed to be a mix of reset errors and tech malfunctions. I also think we were in work lights in the last room as they were so disproportionately bright next to how much effort had gone into the set.

One thing I LOVE about this location is the way they tell their stories. The rhymes, the drawings, the music... everything is made so that we truly feel part of a fairytale. Huge thank you to the team for hosting us this weekend (we did the 9 rooms in 3 days and they were so kind)!
