This is a very interesting experience. It is definitely a mixture of an escape room and a play, which is pretty fun. The set design is fantastic, the actors were great and the story was a fun play on the musical βInto the Woods.β That being said, the escape room aspect of the room was not quite up to par with the other CU adventure rooms. The puzzles and puzzle flow could have used a little work. Many of the puzzles were either too simple, or too complicated with unclear objectives. Not trying to say this was a bad escape room, I have played many that are worse, but it definitely felt lacking compared to the puzzling masterpieces that are CU adventures other games. As for the play side of things, it was quite fun! It was cool to be able to interact with the actors and exist inside of the stage for the play. That being said, at times the story seems to lose its way a tiny bit, but that might also be due to the breaks in the story for puzzling. In all it was definitely an enjoyable experience and I am glad to have gotten one of the limited run tickets! Rumor has it that they might be extending the run, and if they do, I would definitely recommend getting some tickets. If you are a fan of plays, it is a unique and interesting performance. If you are a big escape room fan, it is a very story driven room. If, like me, you love both escape rooms and plays, it takes some of the cool aspects of both and combines them into a very enjoyable experience.

Wow, what a magical experience! I drove 4 hours round trip to play this limited time room (only a 2 week run) and have no regrets π It's a 90 min immersive theater escape room with 6 actors and a story adapted from Into the Woods. The set was beautiful and immersive, and the puzzles all fit in with the story/theme with lots of tech and no padlocks whatsoever. There was even a cool custom video game on a giant screen that was triggered by items around the room. Since it was produced by the University of Illinois theater, the acting, lighting, and sound were so great. The room has similar vibes to the wonderful Storykeeper at Locurio, but with a different story, more theatrics, and actor interaction the entire time.
