Camelot was one of the standout rooms during our trip to Cornwall. It’s a 90 minute experience, with a mix of puzzles and physical challenges. For anyone who knows the reference, it has a real Crystal Maze medieval zone vibe to it. The aim of the game is to release Excalibur from the stone it is trapped in. To do this, you must find a set of shields and place them in the correct configuration on the round table. These shields are hidden throughout the room, and locked behind some clever puzzles. It’s a really spacious, family friendly room that kids will love. There is a lot to get through, but the extended playtime helps to accommodate this. Many of the puzzles are tactile, or require keen observation skills. Some crawling, throwing and pulling is required, with one particularly tight space that may be claustrophobic for some. Only one person is required to enter that! If you manage to escape the main room with time to spare, you can take on the special bonus game in the reception area. Both points and prizes are up for grabs with this one, and we managed to get through over half of the locked boxes. Trev was a great host and is clearly very passionate about the rooms he had designed, and escape rooms in general. I’d highly recommend playing this if you find yourself in Cornwall!

This was a brilliant room. We always do rooms with our kids (7 & 11) and there was plenty for them to do as well as us. Rare for us to get a room which takes almost the entire time.

We had heard good things about house trap and looked forward to our room. Our overall experience was good, the room was good, the staff welcoming and the price was fair but unfortunately as mentioned above the GM controlled an electromagnet and they refused to allow us to ‘escape’ because we’d solved the final puzzle but because we managed to accidently skip a step in completing it, they refused to accept we’d solved the puzzle because we didnt do it ‘their way’

Gameplay

The room was nice with a great theme!

Atmosphere

The atmosphere was fitting and immersive.

Customer service

The GM ruined our experience. We finished the room but because we’d managed to accidentally skip a step to solve a puzzle they refused to let us complete the room as the final part was behind a 3rd party controlled electromagnet under the GM’s control.

We really enjoyed this game and were quick to make our way through it. The room looked great and the owner has clearly worked hard to create an immersive experience. The puzzles flowed well and were accessible to all in our group. The GM was really friendly and listened to our feedback. A good room for families as the theme is appropriate and the puzzles accessible to all.
