The Dorm

This room will be hard if you don’t pay attention to the narrative. Like most of their rooms, it was story-driven and you need to dive really deep. There’s a lot of information you need to remember and a white board is provided for notes. The story gets cringy as it unfolds; definitely not recommended for children. The pacing is slow because of the storytelling and the discussions we had afterwards. This was definitely a brain workout so be ready.

This was the hardest room we have done, but we didn’t really find it all that fun. The story was great, as always at cloud. The room itself has many of those “gotcha slacking!” puzzles that are very demoralizing. We needed a hint on every puzzle, which for us wasn’t that fun. The story is great and kept me intrigued and interested in the room. Extra points if you are college kids doing this room lol. Overall it was a pretty okay room.

We heard that this business is under new ownership and all their rooms will soon be closed or modified, so we came in to play them before that happens and while they are discounted 40% off for the month of September! As noted by others, only do these rooms if you are ok with it being an immersive storytelling experience, rather than a traditional escape room. There are puzzles and things to figure out, but it is closer to a guided experience. With that framing in mind, I was able to enjoy these rooms. The Dorm was a unique story, and not one I have seen in any other escape room before, so that always gets bonus points for me! It was well told and clear to understand. There were a couple puzzles to figure out in here too. I was really glad that the GM told me in advance to use the whiteboard to write things like dates down, as it prompted me to take lots of notes, which saved us time when it came time to solve some of the puzzles. If I hadn’t, we would have had to spend a bunch of time rereading notes and trying to remember where we had seen that info before, etc. Overall I would definitely recommend doing this room when you come here!

I don’t get the blasting reviews. My favorite that we played there. Story was fun and our team had a fun time laughing and making our own comments about the characters.

The room itself was cute and the story took us on a wild ride but the puzzles weren’t as satisfying as other rooms. Game master was great and I liked that we used walkie talkies to communicate with them. As advertised it’s not your typical escape room. If you’re into traditional escape rooms this one may not be for you.

Not our favorite room. We knew coming into it that it wasn’t a “traditional” escape room, so we came in with an open mind. Overall, we felt more like private investigators than puzzle solvers. We tried to stay as engaged as possible, but felt lost and confused pretty frequently for most of the 90 minutes. I feel like some would like this room for sure, just not for us. :)

This is a different kind of escape room. The story takes priority over scrambling around for keys, locks, and cryptex. There are clues to follow, but some are not intuitive. This is for people who don't care about finish time.

This was an entertaining story-based experience that we had a whole lot of fun being immersed in. The GMs are very clear about this room not being a traditional escape room, which was both perfectly fine and a nice change of pace from regular escape rooms. I think this room is best experienced when you decide to follow the story with more vigor than what’s probably necessary. Defo worth the experienced!

I was a bit hesitant when I read the reviews about Cloud escape rooms are different than usual escape rooms, but I am glad that I kept an open mind and it was actually a very fun experience. To all the other players that say this is not an escape room, y’all have to keep an open mind. All escape rooms I played so far all have similar set up, honestly, we need something new and creative to play with. I tried the Dorm and like the whole concept about following the story line and solving the puzzles. If you want to experience something more fun, stimulating and different than regular escape rooms, cloud escape is definitely worth it

While not a traditional escape room, the dorm still follows the blue print of solving puzzles to progress. I enjoyed the immersion aspect as I’m not a fan of rooms with dozens of combination locks that don’t match the theme. Puzzles ranged from easy to challenging. I think it’s an interesting new take on escape rooms that focus more on an overall experience and story similar to some video games.
