I’ve never visited a city where the escape rooms draw as heavily on local folklore as they do in New Orleans. Clue Carre as a company leans heavily on these tales of voodoo, magic, and Mardi Gras, and it’s cool to see! These rooms could not exist anywhere else. One very large puzzle in the first act of this experience was a standout favorite of my recent Louisiana escape room trip. It consisted of multiple steps and components…I won’t spoil it though! Same goes for a reading comprehension puzzle towards the end, it was something we really had to work out together as a group and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The set design is a major area of opportunity in this room. I’ve done several “cabin in the woods”-type rooms, and this one was a little lackluster in terms of immersion, especially since this is supposed to be a voodoo cabin in the swamp.

Rating: 3.5/5 - Great theme, appropriate to the area Pros: ➕Nice set though nothing particularly immersive or unique ➕More than a single room ➕Nice mix of tech, padlocks and mechanical interactions ➕Love that the theme is appropriate to the area ➕Puzzles were enjoyable with some decent variety and with multiple layers and steps ➕Satisfying ending ➕GM was friendly Room for improvement: No major flaws, I just feel like this style to room has been overdone, it feels too similar to many cabin themed rooms I've played. It also lacks some of the immersion and tech of their Cemetery room. As a team of 4 enthusiasts, we crushed it with over 20 min left and 0 hints. I'd recommend 2-3 players. I preferred Bayou over this room since I like the more immersive set and additional tech.

This was a fun room with some relatively common scenic design. I felt like I’ve seen the general theming for the first part of this room at many different companies. The puzzles were fun, although one at the end was a little convoluted and required some educated guessing. We played with 4 enthusiasts and thought that was a tad too many people. Maybe 2 or 3 would be ideal.

We started out with way too much information, but once the story began to unfold, it all started falling into place. Great unity in the puzzles throughout. High level of difficulty but doable and GM did a great job with nudges. Kam as GM was great and we love Clue Carre. Escape Couple rating: 4 🗝️: Better than average room 👍 1-2 🗝️: Don’t waste your money 👎 3 🗝️: Standard escape room 👍 4 🗝️: Better than average room 👍 5 🗝️: Excellent room with wow factors ❤️ 6 🗝️: Best of the best ❤️

We had a great time with this escape room! From the set design, the storyline, and the complex mixture of puzzles, we had to really communicate, look at the finer details, and practice our teamwork skills. This is a puzzle heavy room with different moving parts to it, and it’s a great escape room for medium to advanced skills. What I loved best about this escape room was its set design because it truly immerses you into the story of The Revenge on the Bayou, and is relevant to its theming from New Orleans (voodoo, eeriness, and mystery). Overall, a very interactive and puzzle heavy room! Ideally, 2-3 experienced players, 4+ for first timers/medium skilled due to the complexity of puzzles and moving pieces needed to solve the room.
I really enjoyed the gameplay and there were some solid mixture of puzzles. However; one personal opinion though was that there were some puzzles that felt ambiguous and it didn’t feel like there was a singular flow of puzzles. For example, we solved some puzzles without the help of another, and I felt some could have connected better than they did.
The atmosphere was perfect! From the set design, the background music, the decorations and props, you felt like you were on the bayou. A few times, I got spooked just because of how immersive the set design was with the eeriness, storyline, and background music. Lol.
Our Game Master was very attentive to our needs and would nudge us in the right direction.
High tech
This escape room was a mixture of high tech and lock-and-key, but not necessarily mechanical.

Towards the end there is a puzzle that is not very intuitive. We knew what we were looking for but the clues were too ambiguous and we have done a LOT of escape rooms. Everything leading up to it was very good but I could see a lot of groups getting stuck right before the end

Great immersion, set design and props. LOTS to do in this room with nice mix of puzzle difficulty. We had a great time.

We were running late and game master replied to my email saying no problem. Ashley was fabulous at nudging us if we needed help as there is a lot to do in this room if you only have two players.

Another fun game. Lots of puzzles to solve, things to discover, and more to uncover. Some really fun elements made for a great set design and unique experience.

Place has really cool and well themed rooms. Placed twice there and failed both times on the final puzzle, stated had no issues with gamemaster helping us thru to get the W. Game master was very nice but would have liked more help to get us thru esp being on the final puzzle or maybe a couple extra minutes.
Great game. Very challenging puzzles.
Awesome theming!
