Escape the Red Room

This was definitely one of the hardest rooms I’ve ever done. Like the another review mentioned, the puzzles are very different from other modern places like 60 Out, MazeRooms, Escape Game, etc. Not high production or fancy equipment. The challenge comes from the puzzles being more deductive and critical thinking based. Unless you’re familiar with that type of thinking the room will be agonizingly difficult. But it’s an enjoyable and annoying change of pace compared to other escape room companies in LA. It’s very similar to old school 1st or second generation escape rooms.

Coming from two people that are Escape room fanatics, this is not enjoyable. Puzzles that are not intuitive or even able to be deduced without needing explaining from the game master are ridiculous. Two intelligent and experienced players should not need explanations on 90% of the puzzles. It is complicated for the sake of being complicated. There are few instructions about how puzzles function.

If you want to test your IQ then this is the room for you. Otherwise don't even bother playing it. The puzzles are definitely not typical escape room puzzles and if you really want to do it, then have at it. But be warned, the puzzles are so hard that the game master had a page explaining how to do the puzzles and even then he still couldn't explain how to solve some of the puzzles!!!!! The story is a very ridiculous story as well. When the game master ended our game and told us the full story, I instantly thought I need a drink and some tacos to help me get over this experience we call escape duck. With that said good luck to you guys and I hope you had a better experience than my wife and I!
