It’s Christmas Eve and you’ve suddenly found yourself to be home…alone. You think to yourself, this must be a dream. No older siblings to pick on you, no parents to tell you what to do and the whole house to yourself. Heck, you could even order a lovely cheese pizza just for yourself. This is going to be the best Christmas ever! But suddenly, a chilling realization sets in as you as you overhear burglars plotting to break into your home tonight at 9 pm. In preparation, you’ve meticulously laid out a series of booby traps to slow them down and make them pay for their actions. It’s your house, and you have to defend it! Just as the thieves arrive, they sever the main phone line, rendering you unable to call for help. With only 1 hour to locate and access the backup phone to call 911, time is ticking! Failure to find it in time means the thieves will catch you and take revenge for the pain you’re put them through!

This was a joyous and charming game that reminded me why I love escape rooms. You could still do this room if you haven’t seen the movie but fans of the movie would definitely enjoy it more. We didn’t know what to expect going in, but I’m definitely glad this was a game we played. This would be good for kids or adults. There are enough puzzles to keep enthusiasts busy. This was a pretty linear game so go in with a small group (2-4). Strengths- + Elevation changes added to believability of environments + Set was cute and immersive + Puzzles and environment were full of direct references to the movie + One physical puzzle utilized teamwork in an especially memorable way + All of the puzzles were logical, with some very clever ones. This room never had me thinking “How could we have solved that?” + It was generally clear which codes went with which lock + The tech, although limited, was used very effectively and never malfunctioned. +Final puzzle concluded the story nicely Areas to Improve/ Personal Preferences - One area didn’t look as well put together as the other areas. - One puzzle may have been reaching the limits of “common knowledge”. I don’t know what would’ve happened if someone didn’t know this information before going in. - 1 special effect seemed potentially dangerous for taller people

One effect left me wondering what would happen if I was a little taller, though.

This room was incredibly charming and true to its inspiration material. As a major Home Alone fan, there was nothing to dislike about this room. All the puzzles were very logical and never left me wondering why they were designed that way. A few incredibly clever puzzles coupled with a few incredibly fun puzzles made the whole experience a joy. The theme was on point with music, sound effects, and references everywhere to make you really feel like you’re a part of the story. Despite the heavy lock usage in the room, I was very satisfied with how all the puzzles came together. Overall, this room was incredibly charming, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Christmas, Home Alone, or Escape Rooms. This room was a hidden gem!
