Henry and Elizabeth McKay's daughter, Matty, went missing, leading them to blame an ancient ruby necklace. Their desperate search for answers revealed they were marked for death and being hunted. Meanwhile, a ritual by paranormal investigators at their home summoned a demon instead of bringing Matty back. Now, the investigators must warn the McKays, but the demon is also on their trail. Henry and Elizabeth McKay were devastated when their daughter, Matty, went missing. They blamed both her disappearance and the evil in their home on an ancient relic - a ruby necklace meant to cure Elizabeth from a terminal illness. Upon discovering their daughter and the necklace were missing, they traveled to the relic’s creation site in hopes of finding answers. The secrets they uncovered on this trip confirmed their fears: they were marked for death. They were being hunted. Unbeknownst to them, a summoning ritual was taking place back at their house. Conducted by a crew working for Adam Monie, Paranormal Investigator, the ritual was intended to bring back the McKays' daughter but also summoned a demon intent on taking the relic. In their panic, the investigators left the necklace behind, which the entity took back to its realm. The investigators barely made it out of the house with their lives. Distraught, Henry and Elizabeth returned home, desperate to speak with Adam Monie, but he was gone. They found their daughter alone, scared, and different, clutching a broken piece of the necklace. The McKays quickly packed and hit the road, planning to hide away in their cabin several states away. Halfway there, they stopped at a motel to rest. They should have kept driving. Angered by the incomplete relic, the demon returned to this plane, searching for the broken piece Matty carried. He planned to do whatever it took to get it back. You are the paranormal investigators who summoned him. Now, it’s your job to warn the family. You've been hot on their trail, but so has the demon. Is it too late? Book your stay at Monie Motel and find out.

The cabin trilogy is a MUST DO! Warning: the scare elements are strong. But if you maintain a positive mindset, you will enjoy the experience. Chapter II, I'd say was 2nd scariest out of the 3. The immersion is excellent - from check in to check out! The layout is very well done, and the whole experience was memorable. The game can be played as stand-alone, but you get more value doing the trilogy sequentially as the story and characters build on each other. In Chapter 2, you are in a motel setting where you need to progress through the space to locate an item to be used in a certain way. The puzzles are on the linear side but you may feel the need to traverse back and forth between set pieces. While the difficulty level of the puzzles is moderate, the horror aspect dials it up to hard. There are quite a few things to solve. One of the puzzles can be a time drain despite figuring out what needs to be done - it's important to maintain a good pace. We appreciated the helpful nudges from the game master (in character)...and other sources (heh). My advise would be: don't get paralyzed by the fear element. Keep moving, solving...and ask for hints when you need it. The surprises in the game are quite cool! More details about "how scary is it" in a dedicated section below.
There was a nice physical flow although you have to traverse back-and-forth at times. It's mostly linear. Paying attention to cues is important.
Awesome! Felt like a (haunted) motel. Immersion was full on! Nothing felt out of place.
Welcoming and immersed in the story!
Yes
One of the scariest escape rooms out there! An actual developing story. Great job by the staff.
Usually escape rooms have a premise - some of them quite intriguing - but then you're given a mission and that's it. But here, the story develops...and you want to know what happened.
Hard
Most puzzles themselves were of moderate difficulty. But the constant tension and horror elements made them feel harder. Also, quite a few puzzles to solve. Good pace is important.
Mechanical
Many physical locks requiring keys or combinations.
5
I'd otherwise say 4 but 5 would be better to handle the "scariness". You need at least one "brave" person in the group because it's easy to fall behind the clock when fear holds you back from turning a corner or entering a new space.
💩👖
Without giving away spoilers: It is quite scary. Mostly because of the anticipation of the next scare. People with strong aversion to horror or health triggers should NOT do it. People who get scared easily but still enjoy watching horror movies - they should do it. Just enjoy it (once you understand how the game flows, you will feel much better). If you are doing the trilogy back-to-back, completing the first chapter "primes" you for the next 2 chapter mentally and you are able to "deal with things" better. Is there physical touching? If I say yes, then it'll take away the fun of surprise. If I say no, then you may relax "too much" and not feel the added uncertainty (part of the fun!). So I'll let you find out :) . You will have an opportunity to "hide" if you don't want to face a certain element (this is told to you in the intro) - it was quite thrilling! If the horror is too strong, they can always dial it down (mid-game too). The lighting is dim and atmospheric (but not as dim as chapter 1).

Oh yes, lol.

Crouching and some mild climbing. Taller people may need to spend some time bent lower at a certain section.

This is the "other" location at the opposite side of the area. It's the same plaza but other side.

Although the game may make you feel very vulnerable...it doesn't push it past the safety point.

Another amazing room. Glad we did chapter 1 and 2 back to back. Big rooms and fun puzzles to solve. Looking forward to doing all of their other rooms here.

Another incredible experience! The story continues in this part 2 escape room. The set is immersive, the actors are scary, and the puzzles are quite clever. I can't wait to do the final chapter!
Very scary and suspensful
Yes
The scare actors were amazing! And the set design was super immersive.
The story is good, but it can be difficult to follow in the midst of the chaos and fear. The audio recordings are clever, but they can be difficult to pickup all aspects of the story.

High tech

Not wheelchair accessible for a lot of portions. Users sensitive to scares, flashing lights, and loud noises should avoid. Though modifications are able to be made for more or less scary if given enough notice per the website.

this place is awesome! i suck at puzzles but I’m really good at getting scared.
the combination of sound effects, set design, and actors trying to break into the room you’re investigating made this escape room feel very immersive. that was probably the most scared i’ve ever felt in my life
our GM was Sabina and she was a great host! her acting made the experience really convincing and idk if she was also the one who scared the shit out of me on multiple occasions but good job to that person as well

Really really enjoyed this room. Much more up to par with the great rooms at Escape Hour. The Chapter 1 was honestly a disappointment compared to this and others. This one was awesome!! Our game master Miranda was terrific! From the jump she had us engaged and was very kind and helpful. Can’t wait to see if chapter 3 is as great as 2. I would honestly skip chapter 1 or just have lower expectations.

This was my first live actor experience and it was a total surprise to me (my wife planned and booked everything. Percy (our GM) was in character during our *entire* experience. Like, from the moment we approached the door. The acting was so good I wasn’t sure I liked it at first - because I was genuinely scared - while playing. Be prepared for how great they are, because once I got with it, I was 100% on board.
Holy cow this room was incredible. From the moment we approached the door our GM was in character. And the room gave me the Willie’s. Goosebumps multiple times, and was genuinely creeped out by the how incredible the actor was. Percy *CRUSHED* it, the immersion was unreal and blew my expectations out of the water.

We made it out with 20 seconds to spare! SO FUN! So creative! The jump scares were terrifying but so fun at the same time! Well done!

Thank you for the great review of Monie Motel. We're glad you enjoyed the creative puzzles and the balance of fun and scares. It sounds like your group handled the pressure well - 20 seconds to spare makes for a thrilling finish! We appreciate the kind words and hope to see you back for more chapters.

This Cabin Series really has me wanting more. I was a little skeptical about playing this one thinking it might be more of the same. But let me just say, you will not be expecting this! So much to do, so much to see and so many screams. This run down motel looks like it has been nestled in the side of a mountain for many years. Such an amazing set. Barely made it out of this one and wanted to stay for more. Matty I hope your family is free now. Oh wait! Cabin final chapter! Let’s gooo!

The setting, atmosphere, and scares are all part of the journey, and we’re happy to hear they came together so well. Cabin: Final Chapter is waiting - we can’t wait to see what you think of the conclusion.

We had a great time with chapter two. Although scary experiences are not our favorite, the puzzles and theming were so satisfying to solve that it was definitely worth it. The amount of exploration of this “room” was my favorite aspect.

We’re so glad you took the leap into The Cabin: Chapter 2! Even if scary isn’t your usual go-to, it’s awesome to hear the puzzles and immersive theming made it worthwhile. And yes—there’s a lot to explore in that one! Thanks for the kind words and for adventuring with us!
