7 escape rooms

Tackled this room with two adults and two children during a family trip to Paris - it was the first room ever for both of the kids. Everyone loved it and now the kids are hooked! The set design and immersion were both excellent for this game. The actor interaction was super fun, and we really enjoyed the finale. There were some good surprises and clever interactions along the way. There was something here for everyone: even our ten year old, who isn't the best at puzzles, made some key contributions with his searching skills. I loved the physical aspects that really worked with the resistance spy theme. The game featured quite a bit of number translation, and with only one translation key available it made it tough to pursue separate tasks concurrently - this probably goes smoother with all adult players where communication is a bit easier. There was one minor technical glitch that happened but it didn't cause much of a problem in our game. Overall this game was terrific, it made a big impression on my family, and it's now one of my personal favourites!

Gameplay

It was a little slow to start and there was a little bit more repetitive number translation than I'd have liked, but the game more than made up for this with lots of standout moments and rewarding gameplay. There was a great balance to our tasks and nothing ever felt like it didn't make sense or wasn't well thought out.

Atmosphere

The set design is great here, and there are some cool special effects that left me wondering until our GM showed us how they worked after our game.

Customer service

Our GM was terrific and was very friendly with our boys.

Our boys are 10 and 12. The 12 year old contributed directly and the 10 year old helped. Both loved it.

Was anything broken?

No

We had one minor technical glitch where a key prop had a software crash and restarted. After restarting it worked as normal for the rest of the game.

Live actors

Short interaction but it was super fun and one of the highlights.

456 escape rooms

This is a difficult room to accurately review, because our experience was marred by reset errors and an inexperienced GM. We were even told after gameplay that two other GMs slept in, so they were down 50% of their workers. But to focus on the game itself, it was well made with a good story. One main part of the gameplay is solving puzzles to gain credits to continue, and I found this part a little drawn out (especially when some of the puzzle tasks seemed repetitive).
