Bank Heist

I’D LIKE TO MAKE A WITHDRAWAL. A fun little bank heist room to pad out Escape Reality’s wide array of offerings, this one proved to be deceptively tricky. Between all the s u p e r hidden codes and complicated cash exchange, I found the first half in particular to be very attention to detail orientated which sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t; intuitive for beginners but frustrating for the experienced. The second half felt much more streamlined and relevant to the overall narrative with some clever puzzles scattered throughout a sea of lock boxes. Strong finish! All in all a decent room for a younger demographic looking to become THIEVES.

THE TEN DOLLAR FOUNDING FATHER WITHOUT A FATHER no but actually this room doesn't have anything to do with the musical. We entered the Bank of Hamilton ready and willing to heist some jewels, necklaces, gold, etc. And boy did we commit some thievery! A bit of a confusing opening area where the puzzles felt pretty unclear both literally and figuratively. Some decorative props led to some strange errors and a less than stellar start. The final room is probably where this room shines best, coming into it's own a bit more when focusing on the "heist" aspect more than the "bank" parts. Not my favourite room at Escape Reality but far from the worst I've played.

The staff and venue were fantastic but unfortunately bank heist fell a bit short. The room was very bare bones (nothing wrong with this!) and relied on several red herrings to justify the difficulty rating. If that’s something you are a fan of then this room would be perfect for you. The pacing of sections was also a bit jarring.
