You make your way through the dark, rainy streets of New York City. The godfather himself has summoned you to his office. He confides in you his terrible suspicion: there is a traitor in the ranks of the family! You must investigate the “loyal” family members, examine documents, and interview witnesses. Every decision affects how the story develops. In addition to the authentic-looking game materials, the use of real online maps, voice messages, and websites draws you deep into the story. Will you restore your family’s code and identify the rogue mafia member?

A fun mafia-themed board game that is a hybrid of choose-your-own-adventure story, murder mystery, and escape room puzzles. If you are in a Venn diagram of those interests like I am, then it may be time to scream, “Vendetta! Vendetta!” What works best about the clues and puzzles is that everything connects, and you’ll need to be shrewd with the evidence to understand it all. It’s not easy. There is a lot to keep track of. It also can go for very long. We had to use the internet for various things too, whether researching outside knowledge or viewing websites made specifically for the game or other neat uses. The website is also required for the solution portion. So hopefully it’s still up if and when you want to play the game, or you’ll just end up sleeping with the fishes!
