It’s been years since you’ve last seen your grandpa, so you’ve planned a surprise visit to go see him. When arriving at his home, you find it vacant, covered in layers of dust. The bed is made, but appears to have not been slept in for ages, and all the food in the fridge has long expired. Where has your grandpa gone? You find a small notebook on his desk. It’s your grandpa’s journal! It contains notes about a holy guru known to his followers as “The Mole of The Mountain”, who promises to teach those who seek him the path to enlightenment. Intrigued, you set off to follow in your grandpa’s footsteps. The notes in his journal lead you to an abandoned scrapheap. You discover a giant mountain of trash within. There is a cave-like entrance into the trash heap. This must be where your grandfather went! You bravely venture forth into the cavernous mouth of this mountain of trash. What secrets await you inside?

This was such a fun game full of easter eggs for the hard-core escape enthusiasts. They did so much with the space and created a fun and inventive story and experience with a blend of high-tech effects and fun low-tech physical puzzles. The twist at the end was delightfully funny. It was well worth the trek from Boston, and the town of Mashpee was also delightful to explore. Thank you to the owners who were so kind in setting up a tight schedule so we could play all three games one after another. This is a must play game, though we truly enjoyed the other two games. We can't wait to come back next summer and play their newest creation.

Amazing room! So well done. All the puzzles are unique and creative. Challenging but doable. Love the old school games. What a great twist to the ending!

This is a great room. We had a group of 5, with 3 kids. 8 yo had no issues with spooky part. So much garbage, I kinda wish they had higher ceilings to add more. Our hardest part was getting started. Once we found the puzzles they were relatively easy. We had a little difficult time with one puzzle, because a piece had fallen and was hidden by some garbage. They made it more for the experience than the time and help make this our #1 top choice for escape rooms in MA.

This room is absolute trash! In the best way possible! This is by far the cleanest and most impressive pile of garbage I have ever seen. References and fun jokes all over, combined with the so many stories of the company’s past. Get the full tour after you finish the game if you can from the owners! It’s so worth it to admire the set even more. As for the puzzles and flow, it’s tough to know what to focus on in this overstimulating dark set, but it feels oh so good to organically find the gems of puzzles beneath the trash. There are a lot of unique tactile tasks that make it feel like we’re just kids goofing off in the dumpster. Luckily, you get a full 75 minutes to just soak in the junk pile and appreciate the litter. The hint system and animatronic technology is so well implemented! Nothing could prepare us for the story beats and humor associated with them. The fact that a puzzle gives us perhaps the best reveal of the game is a testament to why this game is TERPECA worthy. The incredibly kind owners, who are also big enthusiasts, tried to downplay their room before we went in, but it is worth the hype! We felt very lucky to have been able to experience the room right after it had gone through a long maintenance closing. I cannot emphasize enough how much fun will you have with this hot trash!

Overall a great escape room and a top choice for people wanting a perfect balance of both gameplay and story, featuring incredible set design and props, which makes you feel truly immersed into the adventure! The gameplay is both challenging and doable, with unique elements you can find nowhere else, making the mole of the mountain the top choice for all escapers! Every escape room lover deserves to experience this room, and the adventure it comes with! Thank you guys for making this dream come true!
Gameplay
Difficult, but in the best way possible not overcomplicating anything, the experience called for teamwork but didn't force it in a way making it not fun. The room was unique and novel, puzzles were something you can find absolutely nowhere else as they were a balance between immersive and challenging, featuring both story and gameplay. The puzzles overall flowing neatly from one puzzle to the next, allowing players to have an unforgettable experience. 🙌
Atmosphere
The set design was like no other room you could find. From before we walked in we could see what it would be like, as well as the technology that made the room immersive. Every prop in the room, even ones not needed for the puzzle fit the junkyard theme so well and even had an element of organization, keeping the room the perfectly whelmed.
Customer service
The staff were who helped us were so generous they even stayed late to give us an Easter egg tour of the room and recommendations based on our play. The service was both exceptional and exemplary, finishing the experience with a cherry on top. Taylor and Sheryl where so fun to talk to and incredible game masters, making the room the best choice for anyone who likes escape rooms. Also s'mores is the best!!!!

The plot felt like a movie! There are twists, characters, storylines, and it felt so real!

The room did involve teamwork, yet can be played with as many people as wanted. It is a great experience to share with multiple people so everybody can cherish the moment.
Scary
Not scary
The room did not really have any scary elements making it the perfect room for people who may get scared easily. Although many people may want a spooky room, the mole of the mountain is a very good choice for everyone.
Minimum age
11
The room does contain a humorous yet possibly sensitive chalenge that may be not the right fit for younger or first time escapers, yet anyone can play and with the right people (which younger people are absolutely okay to play) it is a really great room.
Was anything broken?
No
The room was very well taken care of and organized allowing the users to have the best experience possible.
Live actors
No
There were no live actors yet there were interactive characters that made you feel like you were really in a trash mountain on an adventure (which you are)!
Physically active
Somewhat
The mole of the mountain is a great choice for mental activity and fun challenges. The are some parts of the game you may need to act physically but it is perfectly balanced making a great escape room.
Accessibility
The room could possibly be difficult yet as long as there are other people who don't have impairment issues it should be fun and doable! They do provide you with materials that should help everyone enjoy their experience.

Highly recommend! Loved, loved, loved the theme! The design of the room is amazing and the Easter eggs were fun for the Gen X’ers (well me, the kids didn’t get all the cool references). 100% worth the drive down from Boston and it pays to be the last group of the night so you can chat all things escape rooms with Taylor and Sheryl. They are amazing game masters, designers, and all around wonderful people. This room was so much fun so when you go tell S’mores we said hi :)

Upside Escapes was so worth the drive from Boston! The theming was something I’ve never seen before and the room has a charm unlike any rooms in the area. The twist at the end is very thoughtful and satisfying. We even got the easter egg tour at the end and Taylor shared how he chose what he did to put in the room. Taylor, Sheryl, and S’mores were all awesome and you can tell they really put a lot of love into the rooms they make! We even took some business cards so that we can promote such an awesome company.
