Desperate to make contact with the spirit of your late grandmother, you seek the help of a psychic medium. Your plan is to say one last goodbye but Madame Belladonna has plans of her own In 1692, Salem, Massachusetts became the epicenter of the witch trials burning across the globe. Harriet Anderson was an herbalist and healer who was falsely accused of being a witch. Given a fraudulent, unfair “trial,” Harriet had no way of proving her innocence and was sentenced to death by fire. In desperation she made a bargain with the devil. In exchange for a constant supply of innocent souls, she would live forever.

I enjoyed the theming of the room for the most part. It was a little dark for my taste but that was just me. There were some interesting puzzles along with some extraneous things in the room that seemed like they could have been used but weren’t. Enjoyed it though!

A cute room! The set is personally designed and built by the owner, so there’s a lot of love in the sets— but of course don’t expect the kind of immersive set that comes with the bigger chains. Puzzles were a mix of standard combination locks and a few clever ones, and all felt on-theme. There were some technological snags, like fussy electronics not triggering as expected, but it was mostly okay. There was one puzzle I especially didn’t like where (and this isn’t a spoiler, the GM told us this would happen as soon as we entered the room) the GM just has to give you the answer through the hint monitor. It sort of broke the immersion… the story was cute and the room flow was quite linear. Overall the room was nice— not in my top ten but a solid experience, especially for a small business.

Based on your review, I have updated that puzzle in a way that I hope is more in theme and keeps with the immersive atmosphere of the room. This was an excellently crafted room with a great immersive atmosphere. The staff was super kind as well and talked to us about the room at length when we were done.

The atmosphere of this room was great. Challenging puzzles I haven’t seen before. The room was detailed and made it fun to interact with. Great room highly recommend.

All of the rooms at Break from Reality are well thought out, with exceptional theming and unique puzzles that we hadn’t seen anywhere before. Belladonna was a fun room with extremely clever puzzles. Highly recommend.
