Master Diaphugius is the greatest name in wizardry in a handful of generations, and he selected you to be his apprentices. Youβve survived alchemical mishaps, recovered from embarrassing transmutations, and braved quests for all manner of exotic ingredients (not to mention the countless runs for tea leaves). But all those headaches, the long nights, and the singed eyebrows have brought you to this ... your final test. Diaphugius has left you alone in his tower with a single mission. His favorite familiar, the cat Mikla, needs her medicine. You have forty-five minutes. If you can find her and administer the medicine before your master returns, he will give you your very own spellbook and the title of... Assistant Wizard!

Staff is incredibly nice! Shoutouts: Ozden was an energetic game master and Joey was a nice game host! Doc was very efficient at the bar. There were some parts that just needed you to physically play with objects to figure out how to trigger an event. Iβm not the biggest fan of those moments. Production value was so good! It was not super difficult out of the rooms at this location that Iβve done (Super Hero Quest, Casino Heist).

The idea is there, but our experience was a mixed bag. You feel a bit like you've stepped into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and having wands is an awesome mechanic. We did this with two, but there are a few moments where having 3-4 people would make things easier. We missed a couple things because we didn't have more eyes or hands to notice/do things. So we definitely lost some time on those. The unfortunate part is we definitely had multiple bugs during our game. And because it's not just one, it really started to ruin our experience. It was also frustrating because we had a Game Host, a separate Game Master, AND another person who came to get us when we finished. This implies they have A LOT of staff and could run things smoothly because we've done so many rooms where there's one person running multiple games AND still providing timely responses. In this case here, when we pushed the HINT button (due to the bugs/broken puzzles), sometimes we waited over a minute for a response. That also ruined the flow because we're not even sure our GM is watching or caring about our experience. Sometimes the hint response we got from the GM wasn't even helpful. Or the text was cut off on the screen. Or the GM clearly ISN'T watching us because we do exactly what was said, and nothing's happening, because the puzzle is buggy and not triggering correctly. Instead of recognizing that and helping us out with their manual override (they have this, for sure, because we ultimately recognized them doing this a couple times), we were left stumbling around for more minutes trying to solve an unsolvable-because-it's-buggy puzzle. We had the correct answer for one with no response, and the GM allowed us to pursue very incorrect alternate solutions before giving a hint that didn't even make sense. All this was very frustrating, especially for the room that most of the employees there seemed to recommend the most out of all their games. The second to last puzzle needs some fine-tuning. It was difficult with only two people when the timer comes on. We really appreciated one of the really cool mechanics at the desk (just to end on a positive note) The business is clearly trying to be more than just an escape room place. They are awaiting their liquor license still, but they have nice lounging areas, a few arcade games, an arcade shooting range, and their interior is very nice and modern and bright. Last note: You can book a public or private experience. Mixed bag. Public is cheaper but you might have to play with random people. Private is the standard at most escape room places, but they'll charge you a moderate amount more for it here. It's nice to have the option, but escape room enthusiasts typically want private. But based on their business here and location in WeHo, their target seems to be more casual players, and drinking customers at that.
Solid, but not as spectacular/immersive/detailed as others we've seen
Mixed bag. Great welcoming staff, but our GM didn't meet the escape room standards in-game

Broken/buggy puzzles that really soured our experience. Not just one instance. GM didn't seem to be watching us correctly solve things so we wasted a lot of time

Terrible parking situation. Street parking in front but even at 11 PM it was all filled. Ended up parking in a neighborhood a couple blocks away

I really enjoyed this room! I loved the magic wand πͺ that the wizards carry through the game to activate things, such a fun idea. We escaped and saved the cat, but unfortunately, we didnβt get to see her. That was my only disappointment. Make sure you ask to see the cat, because once the game is over, you have to go to another room to find her.

Wizard Trails in West Hollywood has small differences to its Long Beach counterpart. Came here for a true team building experience and itβs the perfect room for it. The best mini game within the room comes in the form of mini mushrooms - a simple premise that becomes a wild rush with 5 people.

The theme was fun, the puzzles were challenging enough, the room feels new and higher tech, but was well-balanced with mechanical puzzles. Went with a group of 4 adults and got out with about 20 minutes to spare.

A great room for a small group. Any more than 3-4 and not everyone will have stuff to do. Couple of interesting mechanisms, and great for beginners as Iβd say the puzzles were maybe a 2/5 difficulty. Last puzzle didnβt work mechanically as it should have. Likely could have finished 3-4 minutes earlier. Oh, we have the room record for now!
Puzzles not overwhelming, but felt satisfying to solve
