You and your crew of amateur handymen have been hired to fix up the long abandoned Venture Inn & Suites before its grand reopening. Patch some drywall, fix some pipes, clear out some pests—easy money, right? Not so much. A violent storm barrels in, plunging the motel into total darkness! With failed power, the wind howling, and eerie creaks echoing through the halls, your team must race against time to restore the lights before the storm traps you inside. The ultimate test of nerves, teamwork, and survival—will you fix the Venture Inn… or become part of its history?

My wife and I made a 4hr roadtrip to play all three of the rooms at The Exit Games. Based on the reviews and having over 120 rooms under our belt, I had high expectations. All three of their rooms lived up to the hype. I really enjoyed all of the rooms. They are all so fun but also so different that it is difficult to select a favorite. We were only a group of two and we were able to escape all the rooms. Our GM Riley was awesome. She had a very energetic personality and really got into the characters to introduce the rooms. I was nervous about this room going in since I knew you spend roughly half of the time in complete darkness. My wife and I actually did better than I thought and worked great together in the dark. It was not scary at all (at least to us). I liked this room much better than any other "dark" escape rooms we have done. I wont spoil it but will say you absolutely need to communicate, work together, touch everything and make a mental map of everything you touch. The theme was great and the puzzles really fit the theme. All of the puzzles made sense but were challenging enough to make it fun. Especially the ones in the dark. I highly recommend this and the other rooms here.

This room is not scary. There is one tiny jump scare and the occasional loud noise but it really isn’t scary. I love doing dark rooms and highly suggest doing one if you’ve never done one before. They make you collaborate in the very best ways. My only complaint is that the room felt too short, I wanted there to be more.

Ok, now THIS is how you do a "dark" escape room! I loved this room. (Although admittedly, I was window dressing while my wife pretty much did the room by herself. Apparently, she excels when there's no overload on visual input. Who knew? 🤷🏾‍♂️) Most lights-out rooms are a novelty. They don't even have a plot. This one had one that made perfect sense. You are part of a construction crew that's fixing up an old hotel and hopefully you can get done before a storm knocks out the power... The puzzles themselves were quite good also. Mostly intuitive and the ones you do in the dark make sense (or at least they did for my wife!) The set design was superb (especially when the lights were on!) & you really felt like part of the crew. Like many of their newer games, a live actor helps get you started and it totally works. Exit Games is killing it lately. Come play EVERY game (Tattoo, Riddler St and this one) at their Princess St location & their White Rabbit one at the other location a block away. (I do hear they are moving everything to Princess Street sometime in the next year.)

Such a fun room! We’ve done over 100 and I’d put this in the top five on that elusive “fun factor” scale. As soon as it was over, I wished I could play it for the first time all over again. The dark factor is super fun and was not scary AT ALL, honestly. Don’t let that keep you from doing this fantastic room!

Our second experience here as a group of just TWO!! and this place is the real deal. We have traveled far and wide doing escape rooms (even in other countries!) and Exit Games is top notch! There is so much thought that goes into the rooms that we have done so far. Our first room, The White Rabbit Society was so good (but also super hard for a team of 2), and most recently their new room No Vacancy was so fun! No Vacancy is at the Princess Street location, which we were later informed is the more “immersive” experience. Our game master, Riley, did such an exceptional job leading us. She was in character from the moment we were led off to the room. We loved the experience and already bought tickets for another room with the returning customer discount, so we’ll be back soon!
