Cryptid Grove

Another exceptional room by Escape Room Herndon, with a very unique theme that was flat out fun. From a pure escape room perspective, there was a good mix of puzzles, may of which we had never seen before giving it a special touch. That said, nothing was too hard or frustrating, and we were able to make it out in 42 min with a family of five. (It may have helped though that our kids were huge fans of Gravity Falls, and they immediately spied all the hidden references mixed into the game :) ) The theming was top notch and had a lot of detail, could have spent the full hour just reading the cryptid backstories. All in all, a great room suitable for families, even with younger kids.

My wife and I completed this room with 3-4 hints in just under an hour. Escape Room Herndon is always top tier with their quality of escape rooms and this did not disappoint. High quality props, unique puzzles and a fun room. We loved it!

This was our second room of the night with ERH and we had a wonderful time here as well. The room was ADORABLE and the puzzles were great. We will basically enjoy anything cryptid themed, so this was right up our alley. There is one particular element in this room that felt super unique, and though it took a bit of patience, it was really quite fun to engage with. It felt like our team of 2 blew through this one with no hints, getting out with 22 minutes to spare, so I'd say this one is on the easier side and would be better for smaller groups. I would have loved to kept going in this room with this theme but overall we had an absolute blast!

Another great room with a unique theme and puzzles. All of the rooms are so much fun and the people are amazing. We also got our gold pin for finishing 4 of their rooms… very cool concept and love collecting the pins!!

Very beautifully done room with great theming and game play. Fun and nonlinear that kept our group busy for the entire room flow. Set design was awesome and was a fun play!

So much fun!!! I did it with one other person and would recommend more because there is a lot to do but still possible with only 2. There were so many impressive elements and creative puzzles. Also, Callahan was an AMAZING game master!!!

Extremely well done room with some novel puzzles. Completed this with just my wife and while most puzzles weren’t very challenging, there is a large quantity so it still felt challenging.

we love all of the rooms done by these locations! love the cryptid theme! the puzzles were great. unique gameplay. I might be biased in this review because this is the game where I got engaged! special thanks to the staff for letting my fiance coordinate the special ending! 🥰

My Gravity Falls obsessed kids (10, 12) my husband and I did this room together and we had a BLAST. We are novices, so we did need a lot of clues - some we asked for and a few were "pushed in" when we got stuck. But really the goal for us was for our kids to have the Gravity Falls experience and relate it back to the show they know and love. This room did not disappoint! They ate it up and were making up their own theories but were also able to help solve quite a few of the clues with us. Admittedly, my husband solved the bulk of the queries while I tried my best to be the assistant and wrangle the kids. They already want to go back and "solve it faster" and I think we've struck an Escape Room chord inside each of them! Lucky for us, Herndon is local and we will definitely be returning for more fun!

Absolutely incredible! I just completed three rooms at Escape Room Herndon, and every single one was amazing. The puzzles were challenging but made perfect sense. The decorations and props were spot-on, and there were no mechanical malfunctions. The employees were outstanding. I’ve visited several escape room locations around this area, and I can confidently say that these guys are leagues ahead of the competition. Whether you’re new to escape rooms or an experienced player, I’m putting my reputation on the line when I say you’ll be thoroughly satisfied with this place. Absolutely amazing! — Room Junkie/D-Crypt
