You’ve been summoned—alone, in secret. Mr. Matthews, the eccentric leader of the Keepers of Balance, has one obsession: The Galaxy Core. It’s no longer safe, and only you can retrieve it. Armed with strange gear and an aging submarine, you plunge into the depths of a hidden ocean realm to retrieve a lost artifact. And when you return, ask yourself: What did you really bring back with you? The Galaxy Core awaits. But so does the cost.

This was a great experience from beginning to end. Compared to Temple of Light, it was a bit less-than but absolutely worth doing. This was an incredible experience on its own. The theatres and atmosphere is unreal. We will, without a doubt, be back for any room that is opened here.

This is essentially an immersive walk through Disney World attraction for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and I am all here for it! Following an intense ride, yes, ride, we entered a humongous expansive temple. It involved very physical climbing and crawling, which wasn’t my favorite aspect, but we managed to do it. The effects, lighting, and atmosphere are out of this world. There are cinematic moments and live actor conversations. It has it all! And our special customized finale shocked us to our core! Let’s just say, we sealed the Honmoon and are now Golden!

Another great room from Keepers of Balance with some unique puzzles, and another just incredibly constructed environment. Absolutely loved the dynamic "voice" in the room, and aside from some brief temperature issues and associated nausea in the first section, we really had a great time in this room. It felt a bit shorter than Temple of Light, but the variance on puzzles was really great. Set design is again just absolutely incredible, and this is truly half the battle. We loved exploring the rooms and making sense of what we had in front of us.

Gameplay
Atmosphere

The design of both sections was phenomenal. It really goes to show just how much elevation differences and consistent theming goes when designing these rooms. It's clear a lot of love and passion went into designing everything here.

Customer service

We felt like we weren't able to "struggle" quite as much here as in Temple of Light, the "voice in the room" was a bit more proactive with help which isn't exactly what we look for generally. Maybe the opportunity to indicate the level of assistance we want at the beginning, in a themed way, would be helpful.

Not necessarily a detriment, this is the best of this story we have done, and the puzzles included in the theme were significantly better than others as well.

Sunken Realm at Keepers of Balance is a must-play. From the moment you walk in, you’re pulled into a masterfully scripted story and experience. The set design, puzzles, atmosphere, and lighting are all on another level. It exceeded expectations across the board. We’ll be back.

This game is so incredibly immersive but some of the puzzles seem to be abnormally difficult (this is coming from someone who considers herself to be pretty good at puzzles). Overall, I would highly recommend this game but would warn prospective players that they will be hit with very difficult puzzles immediately upon starting. I can’t say enough positive things about the immersive and interactive aspects of this room! The beginning of this room (aka the strangely difficult puzzles) set the tone poorly for our group but we were won back over by the immersive nature and flawless execution of the rest of the room.

Gameplay

I either really loved the puzzles in this room or really disliked them. What I loved: The physical interaction with puzzles at Keepers of Balance is truly unmatched! Their games are way more adventurous than other rooms and I absolutely adored about 80% of the puzzles in this game (especially the ones with interactive elements). What I disliked: Some of the hardest puzzles in this room are placed at the very beginning of this game and it didn’t set the tone well. There are some options for the gamemaster to bypass puzzles if participants are struggling (which I think is a great idea so that participants can see the rest of the room) but it made our group of seasoned escape room enthusiasts feel pretty defeated that we couldn’t solve one of the first puzzles. We were especially frustrated because we felt as if we were missing some clarifying details in the set up of the puzzle.

Atmosphere

I have zero negative feedback regarding the atmosphere of the rooms at Keepers of Balance. The immersion is next level and it feels like you are inside of a movie when you go into one of their games. In this room, there were even some motion related tech effects that reminded me of Disney attractions.

Customer service

Everyone at Keepers of Balance really appears to love their job!

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

I’ve never seen this storyline or execution anywhere else.

Story

I love the way that the briefing for the room is incorporated into the storyline. The gamemaster (and friends) do a great job of selling the story. The semi-interactive nature of the game makes it even more immersive.

Difficulty

Hard

The first couple of puzzles were unbelievably hard for a family oriented attraction. The rest of the puzzles were at more of a medium difficulty level.

Game tech

High tech

You won’t find any physical locks in these rooms. It is all very high tech.

Ideal number of players

The first space that this game takes place in is quite cramped.

Live actors

No

Physically active

Very

One of the most physically active rooms I’ve ever done (but some elements can be bypassed if the group wishes). No running is required but crawling and climbing are incorporated into this room.

Accessibility

I would not recommend this game for people with mobility restrictions. Some puzzles utilize color, sight, and sound.

Actors (GM) were amazing, fantastic atmosphere & special effects. More puzzle heavy than temple (temple heavily focuses on experience, in all the right ways), but this room is a perfect balance of puzzles and atmosphere.

Gameplay

Defenders of the Sunken Realm takes everything great about the first room and amplifies it. The gameplay is dynamic, fast-moving, and built around true teamwork — everyone in your group is needed. The room design keeps you constantly engaged across multiple spaces with no dead air.

Atmosphere

The environment completely pulls you under. This doesn’t feel like an escape room at all — it feels like stepping into a fully realized attraction. Lighting, sound, moving rooms, and physical spaces all work together to maintain immersion from the first moment to the last.
