Wow. Like everyone else said, this room is rated #2 for a reason. The set design was amazing. Full buildings and sets that you could actually explore and felt lived in with the actors (who spoke fluent English!). Amazing choreography, perfectly timed lights and music just made the castle come to life. This escape room was the only reason I came to Madrid, and despite it being far out of the city, I would recommend any enthusiast who comes to Spain HAS to do this room. The puzzles were so intertwined with the theme and made you perpetually feel like you were in this magical world. There were so many amazing puzzles I had never even considered possible, and was constantly amazed as the time flew by. I wish I could re-experience this room for the first time wow. The only criticism is the end felt a bit more rushed than I would have liked, but it also was a 2.5 hour room.

Gameplay

Incredible game play. Amazing puzzles that flowed and made sense.

Atmosphere

The most immersive set design I have ever seen. Great music and special effects.

Customer service

Staff was amazing!

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Absolutely. There were puzzles I never could have possibly imagined. I was shocked at every turn thinking "no way this is actually happening"

Story

Yes, I did this room 10 days ago and I still can't stop thinking about it!

Ideal number of players

2

Played with 2 and had no issues! Not sure how many players you can have, but I think more than 4 would get a bit tight in some rooms since it was a pretty linear room.

Scary

Not scary

Not scary at all.

Minimum age

10

Set the age at 10 not for the theme but due to some of the physicality and coordination needed from all members of the game.

Was anything broken?

No

Live actors

Yes

The actors were PHENOMENAL!

Physically active

Somewhat

Not super active, but quite a few stairs we had to go up/down and some other climbing and physical tasks.

Accessibility

I think this room would be essentially impossible if you had mobility issues. There were parts that were much more difficult than climbing stairs.

Easy to find location

Yes

The location is quite far out of Madrid. We took a bus there that took 45 min or so, and then had to walk from the station. It is mostly industrial and our room was quite late (10PM) so it felt eerie with nobody out there. But we didn't see anything unsafe. No issues getting an uber around 1 AM back to Madrid.

Safety

Yes

Yes* There was one part that I was a bit nervous for, but my partner went first and I figured it would be ok.

Breathtaking set design, in the 150+ rooms I’ve done, nothing has even come close and some of the rooms I’ve done had super fun set designs, but this is just on another level. I’m based in the LA area and I just don’t think it’d be possible to even have something like this, it would just cost way too much. The details that went into everything was something out of a movie, they really spared no expense. It’s hard to fathom any other room topping the set designs in this production. A lot of inspiration was definitely drawn from Harry Potter, so if you’re a fan of that franchise, you’ll be on a high the whole time you’re in there. The actors were phenomenal, when they interacted with you they were super fun and when they performed, it was really enjoyable to see, they go above and beyond for this room, so I have much praise for them in this department. Now from a more objective standpoint, the puzzles were fun but nothing crazy advanced. The puzzles I feel made more use of the setting and made you really inspect every inch of the place but I wouldn’t say the puzzles are going to really challenge most parties but this is definitely something I’ve noticed after doing more rooms in Spain, so it’s not just this room. The puzzles here are very straight forward and don’t really hit you with those a-ha type puzzles that make you feel smart once you get it. A handful of the puzzles were definitely unique and interesting but a good handful is more put this object here or count how many objects here or even just straight scavenger hunting. I feel the rooms here are more focused on storytelling than the puzzle aspect of escape rooms which is fine, but I do wish there were some more brain stumping types of puzzles in these rooms. Because as incredible as this room was, the ending was very very anti climactic. It felt like it was leading toward something epic at the end but the final puzzle was kind of a flop. The puzzle set design itself was amazing but what it actually was, was kind of meh. Overall though, this room definitely earns its spot as a top room in the world. If you’re deep into escape rooms, you must experience this just to see what is even possible in the escape room format. Then last piece of advice, make sure you use the restroom and don’t drink too much water beforehand, you’re gonna be in there a minute and once you leave the first room which has the toilet, I don’t think you can go back.

Oh. My. God. 😳 This is hands down, no contest, the best game I have EVER played. It’s not #2 on TERPECA for nothing! 😍 Words can’t describe how absolutely phenomenal this game is!!! Every single room, every single part of the entire game was an unforgettable experience! The set design was AMAZING. The lights, sound, and live actors work together to create an INCREDIBLE atmosphere and experience! The experience starts the moment you step through the front door. No GM to greet you, nothing to detract from the immersion. You. Are. There. And my goodness the story, the live acting, every part of the game had me slack jawed and giddy for more!! In terms of gameplay, the puzzles weren’t too difficult! It’s very much about the experience! They make great use of lighting and sounds to direct you to the answer and if you need a hint, the live actors will come out and help you along through acting. There are moments of complete darkness, but those are there to help the magic along! Not scary at all! For any kiddos and fans of Harry Potter, or, hell, if you breathe and are able bodied, you’ll love this room!! It’s not even a room at this point, it’s an entire castle and then some! They take lots of inspiration from Harry Potter, but the room stands fully on its own! No outside knowledge necessary at all! I highly highly HIGHLY recommend Magic Universe to anyone who has the opportunity to go and experience this MAGICAL escape room! Trust me, you won’t regret it! Some extra info! The location is slightly hard to find. You’ll arrive at a warehouse area. Go through the gates and straight around to the back where you’ll see a door with the signature M on it with a plaque on the side! There is an intercom to ring and get in!

Gameplay

Super fun!! The puzzles were fun to solve! Not a lot of seeking, they use lights and sound and theatrics to guide you to what you need to do!

Atmosphere

Hands down AMAZING. Every inch of this was magical and I did not want to leave 🤣 If I could spend all day there, I would!

Customer service

Very immersive! You don’t actually see a GM break character until the very end for pics and stuff!

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Just. Yes. The entire thing, yes. Nothing like it in the world. One of a kind experience!!

Story

The story was more a guide for the experience, as it should be and I hear they’re currently in the process of adding a follow up story for another character 👀 Let’s say I will DEFINITELY be making a trip back to Spain just for this! 😍

Difficulty

Medium

Perfect difficulty I think! Just enough to require some thinking, not difficult enough where I’m frustrated to taken out of immersion or need hints!

Game tech

SUPER high tech! In so many ways I would spend all day picking the brain of the designers if I could!

Ideal number of players

We went in as a group of 2 and I think it was perfect! Nowhere did I feel would be better if we had more people! Some places might be more cramped if it’s too big a group. Absolute bare minimum of 2 people though. Can’t do some of the puzzles alone.

Scary

Not scary

There are moments of complete darkness, but that’s when the magic happens 🤫

Honestly, it’s not a difficult game and a lot of it is about the experience! Even if they don’t do a single puzzle there, just as a bystander I’d enjoy my time too! 🥰

Yes

Yup!! Not there to scare you! Phenomenal acting!

Climbing ladders (like actually), sliding down some spaces. You need to be able bodied. I’m not sure if the GMs are able to open doors to bypass those areas 🤔 Maybe try asking!

Accessibility

Able bodied, as stated above!

Easy to find location

Yes

It is, but you just need to know where to go! Arrive at a warehouse, across the street is the restaurant El Trebol. Go through the open gates and drive around to the back of the warehouse. The door is brown and unmistakable! Ring the intercom to be let in!

Absolutely incredible. This is the single greatest set I have ever seen in an escape room, it just kept going! Room after room after room, each with something completely unique. There were so many things in this room that I have never seen or even imagined before. I am just so impressed. If you are an escape room fan in or near Madrid, this is an absolute must play.

I loved this room so much. I always enjoy magical/whimsical type rooms and this one blew all the other ones out of the water for me. We had 5 people and there were some cramped spaces but that was fine for me. There were some unique puzzles and nothing felt out of place. I would highly recommend this room to anyone but know it is very much an experience as it is an escape room.

Gameplay

It was very magical, the set design was really well done and the game flowed well.

What an amazing experience! An immersive story, good puzzles, great acting, and a fantastic balance of puzzles and story telling. Comparisons to Magnifico are inevitable, and while I loved both, I think I actually enjoyed this one more -- the puzzles to story ratio worked better for me. I wish I could immerse myself in the Magic Universe world even more!

Wow. This deserves the praise it gets and pushes the escape room medium forward. It is a true immersive experience caring about the cinematic element as much or more than the puzzles. That said, it is still an escape room at heart and lovers of that should experience it if possible. It is a bit far on the outskirts of Madrid, but make the time - it is worth it.

Gameplay

Every aspect was well done- truely the best flow with attention to set detail and puzzle variety.

Most immersive set I have seen

Unbelievable set, amazing actor performance and interactions, satisfying puzzles. It's easy to see why people like Magic Universe; it was my favorite of the 37 games we played on our Spain trip and one of my top games ever. Our Valazar(?) had some of the funniest and memorable improv skills I've seen, making her roles much more impactful than the script would suggest. That's not to say the game is perfect. I thought the ending was underwhelming, and would have loved another actor scene or two. Some puzzles didn't feel like the lived up to the grandeur of the set they inhabited. Having now played all of Magnifico, Magic Universe, and Monster Mashers, I think Magic Universe stands out for the best set and actor interactions. I still personally prefer Magnifico because I thought it had a better story, but all are very strong.

Absolutely magical experience from start to finish ✨ The room captures the feeling of a Harry Potter-inspired universe with incredible attention to detail. I found myself stopping in every room just to admire the masterful set design and how much effort went into creating such an immersive world. The puzzles fit perfectly with the theme, making every challenge feel like a natural part of the magical universe. The biggest highlight was the interaction with the actors; spontaneous, professional, and clearly very well rehearsed. Their performance added so much to the atmosphere and made the whole experience feel alive. A fantastic escape room for anyone who loves strong immersion and storytelling.
