Legend has it that in 16th century Prague, where alchemy thrived in hidden chambers, a brilliant alchemist created his greatest work — the Homunculus, a living being made of clay. This creature was meant to hold the knowledge of the universe and help humanity. However, to stay alive, it requires the Elixir of Life, which can only be made using the Philosopher’s Stone. The alchemist died too soon, leaving the Homunculus incomplete. The Philosopher’s Stone remains hidden in his secret chamber, guarded by ancient secrets and mysterious objects. Now the Alchemist's legacy is in your hands, find the stone, unlock its power, and save the Homunculus before it’s too late. But beware! The alchemist’s riddles are many, and the path to the stone is fraught with mystery… During the age of Emperor Rudolf II, a wise Alchemist resided in the city of Prague. He sought to create a vessel for wisdom, a guiding light to lead humanity towards Enlightenment. Thus, he created the Homunculus — a small, living being formed from clay, gifted with the knowledge of the cosmos. However, to stay alive, the Homunculus requires the Elixir of Life — a potion that can only be crafted using the legendary Philosopher's Stone. The Alchemist died too soon and the Homunculus was left incomplete, its life and knowledge slowly fading away without the Elixir. The Philosopher’s Stone remains buried deep within the Alchemist’s chambers, protected by the secrets of alchemy. Now the Alchemist's legacy is in your hands, but the path is treacherous and only those of great wit and determination can succeed where others have faltered. In Alchemist's Legacy, you step into an old alchemist's workshop in 16th-century Prague. The alchemist has created a Homunculus – a living creature made of clay that contains knowledge of the universe. To keep it alive, you must find the Philosopher's Stone, which can be used to create the Elixir of Life. Your task is therefore to find the stone and complete the alchemist's work. The room is located in a basement with a vaulted ceiling, which fits the setting very well and adds to the feeling of being inside an old alchemist's workshop. The design is generally well done, and the things you encounter in the room fit well with both the story and the world you find yourself in. Both the introduction and the hints are delivered through the room itself. This works very well, as they are integrated into the experience rather than feeling like something added on top of the game. It helps keep the focus on the story and the task at hand. The puzzles are not arranged in a linear way, and there are always several things to work on. You therefore don't end up standing around waiting for others to finish a puzzle. We played as a group of four, and everyone was kept busy throughout the game. There was also plenty of space for four players to work comfortably. The difficulty level is not particularly high, but that didn't matter too much, as there was always something to work on and we were entertained throughout the game. The story and puzzles also fit well together, creating a clear thread throughout the room. This gives you the feeling that the puzzles are actually part of the story you are trying to solve, rather than simply being a series of unrelated tasks. There is nothing scary about Alchemist's Legacy, making it a good option for families with children or anyone who would like to try an escape room without horror elements. We also played with two teams competing against each other, and the competitive element adds something extra to the experience. Throughout the game, you receive updates on the other team's progress, which provides some additional motivation and makes it interesting to keep track of how the competition is developing. Overall, Alchemist's Legacy is a well-designed and enjoyable escape room with a good variety of puzzles. The non-linear structure gives everyone on the team an opportunity to stay active, while the combination of setting, story and puzzles works well. The difficulty is on the easier side, but the good flow keeps the experience entertaining from beginning to end. Difficulty 🌰🌰🌰 Design 🌰🌰🌰🌰 Scare factor Entertainment vs. price 🌰🌰🌰🌰
