A New Friend by Trapped Escape Rooms was the 1st game of Day 5 and the 12th room of our Athens Escape Tour 2026, played with the same team of five. This was the third puzzle-focused room out of the four puzzle games we planned during the tour, which otherwise was mostly centered around horror experiences. The intro was pleasant and set things up nicely, but once the game began the experience struggled to maintain a clear logical flow. It was often difficult to understand how the puzzles and clues were connected, and progression sometimes felt random rather than intuitive. Because of this, we found ourselves requesting hints quite frequently just to move forward, which took away some of the satisfaction of solving puzzles as a team. The decor and environment were quite simple, without many elements that stood out or added much immersion. We took 95 minutes to finish, so 5 minutes extra. Overall, the experience felt fairly average and occasionally frustrating. Given the many strong options available in Athens, this one is hard to recommend unless you have already played most of the other rooms in the city.
