15 escape rooms
This was a very enjoyable room for a few reasons. The theming was great, with lots of little Easter eggs for sci-fi movie geeks. As someone else said, the entrance was had the theme built in, before you even got to the room. If you like Ster Trek, you'll like this room. The was almost not even an escape room as much as a cosplay experience. Yes, there is a 60 minute time limit to fulfill the mission and there are puzzles to figure out, but if you ever wanted to know if you could hold it together as an ensign on the USS Farragut when everything is going to heck, this is the room for you. The puzzles *made sense,* with the story. There are no padlocks... but there are no locks that don't have anything to advance the story. I was never a fan of locks just in random places that make no sense. The data at the end is fantastic to those of us who might be a little too competitive. You can see your time and standing in each phase of the game, not just the end. We've never seen anything like this before. This was also a room where we felt that our typical team (family of 4 ages 23 - 50+) participated fairly equally, rather than the engineer brains taking over from the creative types. On the negative side... There are a couple of puzzles that are more of the brute force (no physically... more of keep at it until you finally get there) variety rather than the logic your way through it. After speaking with the owner, he acknowledged this fact, and said that they are in the process of making improvements to address this before they open there next room.
Gameplay
The story made sense and the tasks made sense. We liked how we could each work on an aspect of the puzzle simultaneously.
Atmosphere
Great.... Really immersive!
Customer service
For sure... No one was behind us, so the owner/GM took the time to chat, and go over all our stats, as well as talking about future plans.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
As I said, it is equally an escape room and cosplay opportunity. Many rooms have stories... This one *is* the story.
Story
It was a story out of a Star Trek episode.
Difficulty
Hard
In the "main" section (the 2nd of the 3 rooms), there was a lot of chaos, which is understandable since the ship was falling apart. There are a few tasks that can be worked on at the same time with a lot of noise. The chaos adds to the difficulty.
Game tech
High tech
Ideal number of players
4
Four probably works best, but 5 could work. Much more than that would leave people out of the puzzles, as well just getting too crowded.
Scary
Not scary
A few jump scares from noises and bangs, but nothing scary.
Minimum age
10
Was anything broken?
No
Live actors
No
Physically active
Not at all
Accessibility
Fairly accessible... as some have said, it would probably be tight if someone is wheelchair bound, but there is nothing where you have to reach high. The noises would make it difficult for those who have difficulty hearing to discern the audio clues.
Easy to find location
Yes
It's easy to find with a map app, but the signage out front, where you turn into the parking lot is difficult to see.
Parking
Easy
Safety
Yes
