Star Crew

Star Crew is more than just an escape room - it’s an experience, more akin to participating in interactive theatre. You and your party of up to six take on the various roles of a space ship that has been sent to search for a missing captain - and cooperation is key to being able to scour the vast expanse of space. At the beginning you are each assigned to a role - though don’t feel that you need to remain in that role - if you want to commit a mutiny, why not? The game master just might play along. We had a very entertaining experience, throwing a curveball at the game master that hadn’t really been done before, and they just went with it, which made the experience more genuine and exciting. If you’ve ever wanted to drift through space with your friends (or maybe not friends?) then this is a highly recommended and unmissable experience. I hear tell that there may be a part 2 coming, and we’ll definitely be back for more, if that’s the case.

I didn't like this particular room as much as Earthrise One since it did feel a bit more arcade-y that your traditional escape room. This is still a great experience and the overall set design is great. Each player is given a role to play within the crew. I do recommend roleplaying as your particular role since that will greatly affect your experience. There was also some chose your own adventure aspects in the room through AI like the ones at Ukiyo (not surprising one of the guys was a previous employee there) but it did feel a bit less impactful here since I think it ends the same no matter how you interact with it. Overall still a great room but very different from your typical escape room!

What an experience!! This one is unlike any traditional escape room experience around the area, and is more of a virtual story-driven adventure rather than typical puzzle-based rooms. Star Crew throws you and your group into the helm of a spaceship, with physical puzzles in maintaining the ship's functions mixed with virtual aspects of ship controls, combat and story-driven exploration, all with a virtual companion to talk to, driving the story along. The sheer technical aspects of this experience are the most impressive we've experienced thus far, with complex spaceship controls and multiple stations for you and your crew to cooperatively manage through designated roles. Despite there being more stations than our player count (two), the experience is highly tunable and the GM (Jack - amazing and passionate person btw!) made sure we had an amazing time. While this experience is still in a testing phase at the time of review (apparently we were the 2nd group to do this one), there were no major bugs that took away from our amazing time at this room and we highly recommend this to any player looking for an immersive sci-fi experience in the area.
