Can you solve literature’s most famous crime? You are world-renowned Detective Hercule Poirot, aboard the famous Orient Express and have just solved the murder of Mr Ratchet, a man found stabbed to death in his cabin after being proved guilty of abducting and killing a young child - Daisy Armstrong - the daughter of a WW1 hero. However, just as you are preparing to deliver your verdict, you find out about a more deadly plan. From earlier investigations, you’re able to narrow down six suspects, but now, you must find the killer and repair the brake lines to stop the train. Failure means certain death for all, while success means solving the most famous crime in history, and saving everyone aboard. Will you gather the evidence and catch the murderer before it’s too late?

I have played most of Escapology rooms, and this is by far my top room as of right now. With that being said, this is a difficult room and if I hadn’t had as much experience as I did I don’t think we would have made it out. The set looked amazing and each puzzle was really fun. There was only one that was still confusing after but I think our brains were just stumped with the math. 10/10 room.

Gameplay

Game play flowed really well, it was definitely a hard room and if you haven’t done a lot of rooms before this you will likely struggle with the flow of the room.

Atmosphere

One of the best escapology sets I’ve seen.

Customer service

Staff was really kind and helpful, knew what clues to send us and when we need a little extra help.

The set was well done and puzzles were fine, but the game master made the game terrible. We struggled with the first puzzle which we ended up getting the answer to. However, with most all of the other puzzles we were just given the answer right when we got to the puzzle when we didn’t even request a clue. Either that or we would be told how to do a puzzle that we were already doing right like the game master wasn’t paying attention.

Storyline was not very cohesive and does not resolve in a satisfying way. Puzzles were fine, nothing was especially creative or impressively well made. We received nudges as we were finishing puzzles, and there were some issues with the room at the beginning, which was okay. We were able to accidentally open something we weren't supposed to, and were not stopped by a GM, which ended up ruining the flow of the game as well. I think we overlapped a shift change, which I'm sure didn't help. Overall, the game was fine, but for the price we expected better production quality, more high tech puzzles, and a GM that was more on top of their game.

The staff that greeted us and started the room was very welcoming and friendly, the staff on the way out not so much.

The room itself was amazing, super fun logic puzzles. The game master was incredibly subpar. We believe the system was automated and no one was paying attention as we received hints for clues we had already solved. Had to exit the room to ask someone to actually give us a clue relevant to our progress which was frustrating.

Sorry to hear our game master was not on their game. It is one of our more difficult rooms to master but that is no excuse. We will work with our team to improve this. Glad you enjoyed the room! We'd love for you to do another room with us and for us to improve your experience. next time you come, give us a call beforehand to let us know about your previous experience and we’ll make sure your next experience is far better!

The staff at this location were great - we went opening week and they genuinely wanted to know how it went. The room had a few kinks to work through, including one puzzle that was brutally hard. But it was an enjoyable experience - we will be back!
