This was a very interesting event to attend and we have no regrets on attending, though we did feel a bit confused a good chunk of the night. Here are our main takeaways. Firstly, we were on the wait-list and didn't expect to make it off the list, so we weren't as prepared to dress up as we should be. A good portion of the patrons did dress up, so that was cool to see, and I wish we'd had more of a heads up to fit in better. Dark and sparkly helped us not stick out like a sore thumb - but we wore sweatshirts, which turned out to be a mistake as the room did end up getting pretty warm through the night. The hallway was a relief whilst we were doing puzzles, but the interactions all happened in the main very warm room. The experience itself was... fun chaos. The singing, dancing, magic, acrobatics and more were all delightful. This was our first time so we were a bit confused on what to do, and it feels like we didn't end up doing too much, but we had fun solving the puzzles that we did solve! You need to interact with different folks to learn tidbits of information, but the room was very packed and you had to wait around for the characters, killing time. It was also very crowded to the point where you'd knock sweaters off of chairs, have to cut through a busy dance floor to get to characters, and honestly, it was a little overwhelming. At the end of the night everything was revealed, and we went on our merry way, a little confused, but pumped from the excitement of the night.

Our crew did the Club Drosselmeyer/REA crossover event in 2023 and had a wonderful time. The experience is designed so that everyone, regardless of their puzzling interests, can have a wonderful time. I enjoyed running around from actor to actor completing tasks while my friends sat at a table working on paper puzzles and sipping their drinks. This is the event that got us hooked on immersive theater. My only critique is that Club Drosselmeyer is a large indoor event in the middle of flu/covid season, and I would love to see them have air purifiers or far UVC lights present at the show to mitigate the spread of illness and keep their actors and participants safer.

If you like any one of: immersive theater, solving puzzles, dancing (especially Lindy hopping), The Nutcracker, great cocktails, a fantastic band, seeing an aerialist, dressing up in 1940s period attire, or just having fun, you will like Club Drosselmeyer. If you like most or all of those things (which I do), then this might very well be the most entertaining thing you do all year. I fly up from Atlanta to Boston just for this show and it is 10,000% totally worth it.
