Metamorphosis

This is an amazing room but I think there are some things that didn't allow me to fully enjoy the room. The puzzles are great, they flow very well and mostly follow the metamorphosis theming of the room and ties into the story. The variety of puzzles are very different from each other and none of the puzzles feel the same as well. The set is where the room shines, like the other two rooms at the venue, it makes use of the very large vertical space of the venue. There are also times where you stop to listen to a video that plays on the screen as well, unfortunately there is use of AI here which did ruin some of the immersion for us because we were laughing at it instead. The ending did feel a bit disappointing as well because it ends up being a bit cliché. Still a great room though and definitely worth doing!

This room sent me! It was such a fun, scary, experience and had the same wonderful charm and design that Cipher does with ease. The ending made both my and my mates jaws drop to the floor. Another awesome room!

‘Metamorphosis’ was spectacular. I approached the game with a sense of nervousness, having (im)patiently waited for a follow-up to ‘La Rébellion’. What awaited us within ‘Metamorphosis’ were gorgeous, textured sets, varied puzzles, and a wondrous sense that the world was bigger than the bunker we were in. While I have a tendency to tilt my reviews towards the verbose, I don’t want to here. If you’re reading this, just book yourself in to experience ‘Metamorphosis’ and prepare for an enthralling 60-minute escape room. For those wondering, this game doesn’t include any live actors and the scare level is primarily spooky. Those who don’t love horror are still likely to thoroughly enjoy ‘Metamorphosis’ and shouldn’t be dissuaded by the premise. With the brilliance of each experience The Cipher Room designs, I wondered how the team could reimplement their already stellar designs and how they can use their space in new, unexpected ways. Particularly when they have already successfully completed this feat previously. Even after ‘Metamorphosis’, this feeling remains—what might their next experience be like? I can’t wait to find out.

Having done all of the Cipher Room rooms, the ones in St Peters are definitely a step up from Newtown. However this one is the weakest of the 3 so far at St Peters. It felt very obvious that the game designers really wanted to do something multi level but didn't put as much thought into the (IMO) most important part of the room - the actual puzzles themselves. The puzzles were not as dazzling as other rooms and at times way too easy. Otherwise, the actual design of the room is fantastic, as are all of them. It's just the least enjoyable of the 3 new ones.

Metamorphosis is a brilliantly designed post-apocalyptic bunker experience packed with clever puzzles and impressive tech. The room makes excellent use of space, including vertical movement that keeps the layout feeling bigger than expected. Puzzles flow naturally with the story and deliver satisfying “aha” moments without feeling unfair. We escaped with about 5 minutes remaining using two hints. Another fantastic room from The Cipher Room.

This was another high-quality, excellent Cipher Room special! Our usual team of 5 really enjoyed this room. The storytelling, setting, attention to detail and puzzles remind us why Cipher Room are leading the charge with Sydney escape rooms. We loved the twists in this room and kept talking about it for the rest of the day!

Another banger from the Cipher Room. Zombies/Mutants usually aren't my bag, but the story is well-told and the puzzles are top-notch. Features all the high level of production quality I've come to expect from here and as usual they stuck the landing with a great finish

Copper does not disappoint! A fantastic experience. The only downside is now we have to wait till their next room is available

We love all of Cipher’s room and this was no exception to that. The atmosphere and way they have built the room was amazing! Definitely such a strong skill of theirs. We were lucky enough to be able to chat to one of the owners before going in, which made a big difference to our experience as she was so lovely. The only feedback we have is that we would have loved more puzzles to solve - we found it to be more about the story (which was fabulous) but we love having lots of puzzles to solve. But it is not a criticism… it was such a great room and we are hoping that their next room doesn’t take as long to open because we love them ❤️
