This room sent me! It was such a fun, scary, experience and had the same wonderful charm and design that Cipher does with ease. The ending made both my and my mates jaws drop to the floor. Another awesome room!

It’s 2062. One year since the TCR1 toxin spread across the world. You are exploring an abandoned area on the outskirts of the city, when you find what looks like the entrance to an underground bunker. You wrench the hatch door open to find a rickety ladder leading downward, to darkness. You know that mutants have been seen in this area and you need to find a place to hide. Fast. You have no choice. You climb down. What is the mysterious underground bunker, and who resided here? Will you be safe in here from the creatures above? If you survive the night, how on earth will you get out? Game located in Sydney, Australia

Having done all of the Cipher Room rooms, the ones in St Peters are definitely a step up from Newtown. However this one is the weakest of the 3 so far at St Peters. It felt very obvious that the game designers really wanted to do something multi level but didn't put as much thought into the (IMO) most important part of the room - the actual puzzles themselves. The puzzles were not as dazzling as other rooms and at times way too easy. Otherwise, the actual design of the room is fantastic, as are all of them. It's just the least enjoyable of the 3 new ones.

Metamorphosis is a brilliantly designed post-apocalyptic bunker experience packed with clever puzzles and impressive tech. The room makes excellent use of space, including vertical movement that keeps the layout feeling bigger than expected. Puzzles flow naturally with the story and deliver satisfying “aha” moments without feeling unfair. We escaped with about 5 minutes remaining using two hints. Another fantastic room from The Cipher Room.

Friday night in Newtown/St Peters was a bit fun for parking, give yourself plenty of time and you'll find something

This was another high-quality, excellent Cipher Room special! Our usual team of 5 really enjoyed this room. The storytelling, setting, attention to detail and puzzles remind us why Cipher Room are leading the charge with Sydney escape rooms. We loved the twists in this room and kept talking about it for the rest of the day!

Another banger from the Cipher Room. Zombies/Mutants usually aren't my bag, but the story is well-told and the puzzles are top-notch. Features all the high level of production quality I've come to expect from here and as usual they stuck the landing with a great finish
Incredible use of space, felt appropriately cramped and dingy

The game is mostly linear, but there are a couple of points where our group split up to work on parallel puzzles.

Quite a few stairs, plus some more involved physical activity for one team member
Not wheelchair friendly in the slightest, one colour-based puzzle

We love all of Cipher’s room and this was no exception to that. The atmosphere and way they have built the room was amazing! Definitely such a strong skill of theirs. We were lucky enough to be able to chat to one of the owners before going in, which made a big difference to our experience as she was so lovely. The only feedback we have is that we would have loved more puzzles to solve - we found it to be more about the story (which was fabulous) but we love having lots of puzzles to solve. But it is not a criticism… it was such a great room and we are hoping that their next room doesn’t take as long to open because we love them ❤️

Great room yet again from Cipher! Most of the puzzles were mechanical which we loved, theming was amazing and they made great use of the space. Whilst it was more narrative than some of there other rooms there was still plenty of puzzles. Highly recommend although I think some of the others at cipher are better (toy shop, la rebellion, Marlowe)

Cipher Room does it again and holds their trophy for my favourite rooms in Sydney. High quality, immersive and smart puzzles. Mildly spooky and great puzzles with a fantastic ending!
