One of the best escape rooms I’ve done. The story was so much fun and the whole experience was super immersive.

Cipher does excellent games and they put a lot of energy to design great atmosphere that instantly transport you to another world. The puzzles themselves were on the easy side and we only got stuck with something that requires dexterity over brain, which is frustrating. Their endings are always super cool, but Mr Pepper will definitely stays my favorite.

🦋 I’M GOING THROUGH CHANGES 🦋 Cipher, my sweet cheese, my good time boy, I’ve finally come back for you!! Man, what a truly remarkable experience this was, after writing so many escape room reviews it really does become difficult to find new and meaningful ways to praise quality workmanship such as this but regardless, I will persist. Metamorphosis, a surprising, beautiful, left-of-centre adventure that for me, succeeded in subverting my expectations while still maintaining that Cipher charm I’ve consistently lauded over the years. It was compact, it was thrilling and it was clever. As a surprise to no one, the set design is top-tier. It’s right up there with some of the most inventive uses of space I’ve ever seen in an escape room; rivalling that of Intruders at Mission Escape. My mental layout of the environment was flipped on its head and spun around a few times which truly did wonders for the immersion, I always get such kick out of losing my bearings and this was no exception. Big tick. The puzzles, while relatively tame in their difficulty, were still gorgeous and varied. I think it’s damn near impossible to fault what some would call an “easy room” when every single element throughout is of such a high quality. At no point in our play-through did I feel disengaged or lost, we had a sea of interesting props, story-beats and wow-moments to sink our teeth into, it was nothing short of exceptional. I applaud Cipher for trying something new here, I think in this industry (and the world in general) creativity is fleeting, so to experience something which for me was just.. originality personified, it warmed my heart and gave me hope that people will continue to make really cool shit. A home run. A masterclass. A triumph. 9.7/10 🔏🧩

And what if I told you this was MY metamorphosis? WOW. What an escape room. Having played at Cipher a couple years back and having a genuine blast finishing all their rooms, Metamorphosis has been perhaps the most hotly anticipated room release amongst myself and my escaping friends. High expectations be damned, we were absolutely blown away by the newest offering from Sydney’s best. Excellent puzzling, a unique and surprising set design and, as always, many brilliant story moments throughout. Upon entering the space it’s immediately apparent how much love went into the creation of this game. The set design is phenomenal with many twists and turns, utilising props that gave the experience an ultra realistic feeling of the theme presented. The puzzles were great and varied with some tactile stuff mixing with a little hide and find and some more classic solving. Everything flowed nicely, driven by the puzzles while also actively moving through the story beats. Our Game Master Callum was a gem, he gave lots of enthusiasm to our brief and really amplified our experience. We also had a great chat with Lachie after our replay of Mr Peppers which was a true joy. His passion and love for the rooms as well as his impeccable hospitality really shone through. Go to Cipher Rooms, play them all. Please!

We don't think this one will get knocked off our number 1 spot for a while!! Absolutely worth a visit!

Another world beater from Cipher Room! We did it with a pair of friends who we’d never done an escape room with, and we had an amazing time.

another one thank yewwwww as a sucker for a good set i had an absolute field day in this room. the way they use the high ceilings at the st peters venue does not disappoint. for my fellow scaredy-cats, there’s some very minor jumpscares but nothing crazy. the only thing i didn’t completely love was the ending, it felt a tad bit abrupt/cliche. regardless, i would highly recommend.

This is an amazing room but I think there are some things that didn't allow me to fully enjoy the room. The puzzles are great, they flow very well and mostly follow the metamorphosis theming of the room and ties into the story. The variety of puzzles are very different from each other and none of the puzzles feel the same as well. The set is where the room shines, like the other two rooms at the venue, it makes use of the very large vertical space of the venue. There are also times where you stop to listen to a video that plays on the screen as well. The ending did feel a bit disappointing as well because it ends up being a bit cliché. Still a great room though and definitely worth doing! Update: I've been informed that the videos were not AI so I've retracted that from my review.

This room sent me! It was such a fun, scary, experience and had the same wonderful charm and design that Cipher does with ease. The ending made both my and my mates jaws drop to the floor. Another awesome room!
