The "Las Virtudes Mental Hospital" has opened its doors to the public to offer guided tours. Founded in the 1960s, it was once home to patients with mental illnesses. Rumors circulated that controversial experiments were conducted there and horrific abuses occurred... Despite its dark history, it is one of the few asylums that still exists and is still in operation today. You'll have to venture into its gloomy facilities and discover the treatments and experiments that were carried out, but beware: the residents are a little agitated by your arrival and are somewhat... unstable.

Ensayo 1 was quite a choppy experience for my team. Apart from a few enjoyably vivid scenes, including one particularly lovely non-evil character interaction that left a mark on us, Ensayo 1 had an overall generic mental hospital setting, deeply forgettable gameplay, and inconsistent lighting guidance (seemingly bending its own rules in moments.) It was one of the weakest horror experiences I've encountered in Spain. I found Ensayo 2 to be a far more innovative experience, and while there's some narrative payoff between the two, I ultimately think I'd have been happier skipping 1, at least in the form we experienced.

An immersive, atmospheric horror experience that leans into psychological tension rather than cheap scares. Expect excellent use of lighting, clever interactions with characters, and genuinely tense moments that are handled with skill. The actor work is impressive, the puzzle variety is solid, and the pacing of reveals and GM cues hits just right. We played the English version and escaped successfully with time to spare. Fair warning: this room involves physical interaction and sensory intensity, so it's best experienced with a small team (2-3 people max). Immersion breaks are rare and minor. This is top-tier escape room design.

9/10 Paranoia Remastered is the Pandora’s box of escape rooms. Immediately upon walking inside of the experience all hell breaks loose and never holds back. Cortisol rocketing, adrenaline pumping, anxiety inducing gameplay from start to finish. Even with the fear factor this game doesn’t lack in puzzles. If you keep your wits about you there will be a substantial amount of well thought out puzzles that are immersive, engaging, and awe inducing. The acting is of the highest caliber, even with playing in English. Prepare for character interactions that will have you laughing in tears or crying in fear. Production, set design, and lighting were absolutely exceptional. The flow was effortless (as long as you maintain the rules that have been set in place) and you will be surprised again and again as this game’s momentum picks up and never falters. If you love horror, Essay 1: Paranoia Remastered is an absolute must for any escape room players in Spain.
