Zone 51 [Area 51]

This is truly the most incredible production I have ever seen. The Actor was great, the effects mind blowing. That being said, It’s not really an escape room. I have played several of these super high production games that are actor driven and I have concluded that they just aren’t as fun as a traditional escape room. Can I recommend this experience? Absolutely! Don’t leave Paris without playing it. But if you get your thrills by solving a cleverly crafted puzzle or giggle a bit when a combination lock pulls open…you will not find those things here and may be a little let down in the game play.

Wow, what an experience! We had heard great things about this before entering, but nothing could have prepared me for what we experienced during these two hours. This is not a classic puzzle based escape room. The story and set progression is in the front, and it was done to almost perfection. The set design is of the absolute best I have ever seen, and parts of it, I cannot understand how anyone can ever make anything that looks better. The story is good, and easy to follow, and our actor, Gabriella, did an absolutely fantastic job, and we would never have guessed that it was only the second time she did the role in English. Since the actor is a big part of the experience, we thank Gabriella for making this truly special for us. There is always small things you can nitpick on, but I will choose to let you discover them (or not care about them) yourself. I would travel very, very far to play this, and I would give a lot to play it again for the first time!

This was an amazing experience, and I loved every minute. The acting was amazing, the decorations were very realistic, and there were some pretty cool effects. But as it says in the email confirmation, "Live Cinema is not an escape game, but a story room!!!" Most of the game is accompanied by an actor, and a lot of the action is carrying out tasks that instructed by him or her. There is a small portion of the experience where you can puzzle, but if you love puzzle games, make sure you go into this experience knowing that. Although this is not normally my type of game, I still loved it, and I can appreciate the experience. I also love that the debrief at the end includes a full behind the scenes info session, Q and A, etc. It was so cool to see all the details that have gone into it.

Thresholds are one of literature’s oldest ideas. The wardrobe opens. The rabbit disappears down a hole. Area 51 remembers that childlike wonder. It begins with sitting in a theater. Then, with astonishing confidence, it invites you to cross over. In many escape rooms, the guide is essentially customer service. Here the relationship is reversed. The guide is the protagonist. We are there to help her. As a result, instead of feeling shepherded from scene to scene, we feel recruited. The room has a few puzzles, but they’re rarely the point. More often we are asked to carry out the kind of tasks that naturally belong in the world we have entered. I think that’s exactly right. Every interruption has a cost. Every time we are asked to sequence abstract colors and symbols it reminds us that we’re playing a game. At one point about halfway through, there is a storytelling device introduced that is the most elegant I’ve ever seen. It’s not flawless. The room falls short in its final confrontation. After such an imaginative build-up, I expected something more. But the final moments, after the “battle,” are pitch perfect. It’s one of the top experiences anywhere in the world, and worth hopping on a plane and flying halfway around the world to see.

One of the best! Period! Immersive experience to the max, the environment is top notch, and the actors were on point! Highly recommend! And they have it in English!

I can't recommend this highly enough. The quality of every aspect was out of this world and the experience was amazing from start to finish.

Amazing immersive experience! Earns the name Live Cinema. Set is comparable to Legendary Adventure in Spain. Not really puzzle focused, it was more about the action adventure. It’s a blast!
