The Detention

It was a genuine please to visit Just in Tyne. The folks here are a joy and it was really wonderful to talk about the rooms here and all of our combined experiences after our games. We did the double header and started with The Detention. This is a brilliant room that’s full of humour and fun nods to the movie which inspired it. It’s not an easy room though and we found ourselves stumped a few times. The boys made us feel better by explaining the game can be set to different difficulty levels and assured us we did the most difficult. We still needed a few extra minutes to crack the room but that was mostly due to our ability to overcomplicate things. We thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles and felt there was plenty to do for a full hour.

Did this game after The Brief Case (see other review) and again thoroughly enjoyed it. Flowed really well and doable as a two on hard mode. Silas creates such great games and is a wonderful host.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Experience at JUST IN TYNE ESCAPE ROOMS! Myself and Sam had an absolutely brilliant time at JUST IN TYNE ESCAPE ROOMS, playing “The Detention.” The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. The room was really well thought out, great fun, challenging and had us both completely hooked throughout! We had such a laugh working our way through the puzzles. A massive shout-out to our Game Master Silias, who was brilliant — really friendly, welcoming and made the whole experience even better. We genuinely had an amazing time and would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and memorable escape room experience. We’ll definitely be back to take on another room! 🔐🧩⏰ Thanks for a fantastic experience!

It was a great experience, a really well thought out room and very friendly and helpful GM. It's clear that Silas really cares about your experience within these rooms and gave us a great thematic briefing. The room was clean and well maintained with a lot of good puzzles.

Excellent room, love that Silas can adapt the difficulty based on how experienced you are. Good variety of puzzles and strong themeing.

As an experienced quartet we did all 3 games here over the course of the weekend (Detention, A Brief Case and the Chain Lock Challenge). The games were well themed with some interesting puzzles, some of which we hadn’t seen before. All well executed and fairly low tech (which suited us), and we escaped with plenty of time to spare. Silas is the owner and designer and he’s lovely, a great GM. Recommended!

We chose to do this room second after completing The Briefcase earlier in the day. It was another fantastic room with some clever and unique puzzles I've never seen before. The theming was great and it all flowed really well. Slightly easier than The Briefcase room, but nonetheless a really enjoyable one. A big shout out to the host Silas, who you can tell really cares about his rooms and he's always looking for feedback and ways to improve. The rooms here are the best I've done in the North East of England by quite some distance, and we're looking forward to what he's got coming up next!
