Matchday Mayhem

It’s a good room but it might be a little uninteresting if you aren’t into soccer. While know soccer knowledge isn’t necessary for this room, I wasn’t having very much fun compared to my soccer loving friends.

The room had a fun theme unique to KC. There is a lot of soccer terminology used in some of the puzzles, but you don’t *need* to know anything about soccer to solve them. Everything you need to know is spelled out for you. There were some puzzle types we’ve never encountered before, but also a lot of keypads and padlocks. Some of the spaces were pretty cramped and do require some crouching/crawling. There are a lot of things to keep track of and take to further rooms much later on in the game, but it was generally intuitive what goes with what. You just have to remember where you left it.

We enjoyed the theme of the room. It’s the first escape room we have done based on a sports theme. It was slow to start but then it picked up pretty well. Very nice GMs here.

Disclaimer - I am not a soccer fan. I went with a group and spent more of the time not understanding the clues. However, the theme was fun and carried throughout the room. This is a fun one to do with kids or your soccer enthusiasts.

Solid room from Breakout KC. Different from their typical room flow. Storyline could’ve been better, but overall still an enjoyable experience!

My favorite room at Breakout. The theme really ties the room together, with good character for standard puzzles. Tons of puzzles and mechanical interactivity.

This room was so cute and creative. It’s a breath of fresh air to do a room with such an original premise. I’m a little stingy about upkeep. Other than a few worn out elements, this place is great.

Very well done. They remodeled a previous game (Truman Room) and the space couldn’t have been more different. Fun combination of electronic and physical locks/puzzles.
