THERE’S TERROR IN THE SKIES!! (me) My first crack at Urban Escapade and I ended up having a really nifty time! Coming straight from the real Sydney airport into a 1968-spy-mission-Sydney-airport was quite the jump-scare but hey, that’s what being a part-time (on call) air marshal is all about. Turbulence was a really interesting game for me, the set was clean, the premise unique and the tech impressive. My friends and I enjoyed ourselves as we navigated the space, making sure to lug our totally normal and non-suspicious suitcase with us wherever we went; fully buying into our responsibilities of foiling something dastardly and airborne, it was a good time. My main constructive feedback here is at best, a little redundant. As having now played 2 different airport-themed escape rooms, it becomes clear to me just how difficult it is to try and make fun puzzles out of air-travel gimmicks. The overuse of elements like correspondence, documentation, maps, arrival times, scheduling and staff info never really sparked joy for me and created more of a workflow than a puzzle-flow. And while the designers here have done a fantastic job with the space, I fear if they continue to keep the puzzles more “in-world” they’re gonna find themselves restricted by the rules and expectations of the environment they picked. While I can definitely see players getting a kick out of this one, I think it just wasn’t my bag (ha). Special honourable mention to the cinematic ending and our wonderful GM, Danielle! And a special dishonourable mention to all the AI content used throughout the room. Boo. 6.9/10 🔏🧩

bit on the fence with this one. the concept is unique, the effects used were cool and the set was great (if you look past the ai). what threw me off was the flow of the puzzles. particularly in the second half of the room, we were pretty stumped on how to proceed. i wanna give it the benefit of the doubt as it’s still a relatively new game, but i think some additional sign posting could really make a difference. regardless, i think this room has a lot of potential. excited to see what they come out with in the future.

Gameplay

though i didn’t love the second half, i really enjoyed the first section of the room. there was a mechanic in particular i thought was super unique!! we also had a small hiccup tech wise on a puzzle later on, but it’s bound to happen

Atmosphere

set felt super realistic which i appreciate

Thanks so much for your playing and for your considered feedback. We're glad you appreciated the set design. We will admit that we did use a little AI, but we've walked some people through who felt the same and they were surprised to learn a lot of what they thought was AI was actually hand-designed in Photoshop/AfterFX/Premiere etc. (Our owners do have 30 years experience in the visual FX industry). We have been tweaking the games as we've received feedback along the way so we do appreciate your comments. And yes, Danielle is awesome. Thanks for noticing.

The set for this room was fantastic but I did have a couple of hiccups with the puzzles. I think the puzzles in the first part of the room were solid but once we got into the second part of the room there were a lot of "what do we work on now" moments. With some additional prompts on where players should be looking I think it can improve the room. The last part did also bug out as well so we were left a bit confused when nothing was happening. The set is definitely the star here as it's been set up to look like a terminal and plane. Still a good room that could benefit from a bit more signposting.

Thanks for playing both rooms, BokChoy, and for leaving us constructive feedback. Sorry to hear that something "bugged out" though - that's most unusual, and something we will definitely look into.

I would say this is a pretty fun room with some interesting puzzles and some cool special effects. However, I think the overuse of AI generated imagery hurt the immersive nature of the room. I likely won't return to this escape room as the price is much higher than other escape rooms of arguably better quality. If the prices came down I would consider their other rooms.

Thanks for visiting and for leaving your review, wackojacko. We're sorry you weren't completely happy with the experience. We do offer discount codes occasionally, and on weekends we don't have a high minimum booking like some other rooms. The minimum at all times and sessions is 2 people.

I would recommend this escape room and will definitely try their other room/s (one coming late 2026). There was nothing to dislike about it, and we enjoyed the whole experience. I would just say that the area isn’t huge and I think any more than 4 people would be too much. There were three of us and we were on top of each other a few times.

Gameplay

I liked the story line and the progression from room to room worked well. A couple of the puzzles were a little laboured I felt, and occasionally the mechanical outcomes were difficulty to hear over the ambient noises. I also feel there was too much unnecessary ‘blurb’ which made sifting the relevant info from the filler a bit time consuming.

Atmosphere

Really enjoyed all the props and effects - if somewhat terrifying! The use of so many real aeroplane and airport equipment really helped to set the scene.

Customer service

We were welcomed enthusiastically and given a thorough briefing.

Difficulty

Medium

We did ask for a couple of hints though I think we might have got there eventually! One hint was required because we had not searched an area properly and missed a key! On the whole, it was challenging but not impossible.
