Legend of the Yeti

A pretty fun room with a nice surprise. I just don’t like that their games aren’t private. We had a group of five and were joined by two strangers, which made the room feel way too packed. They also charge $47 per person, which is pricier than many other places.

So much fun!

As always with The Escape Game, high technical production value. Had some novel puzzle types I haven’t seen before. Two minor hiccups where they 1) left an important puzzle clue in an inaccessible room and 2) left a lock open, but they didn’t significantly impact the experience. Got a free pin as compensation. Very fun, 8/10.

Honestly, the room design is amazing as always. I feel like going into this room I was super tired from driving over an hour to Irvine at night to do this room with my girlfriend. I didn’t even know what was going on half the time but hey we made it out. The game masters and staff at this location are wonderful as always and helped us get through it. A must try if you’re trying to complete all the escape game rooms.

There is one interesting and unusual "puzzle", unfortunately the rest of the room feels rather uninspired. It is not bad, but it is not good either. There is a lot of stuff to do though, which is good. I just didn't have much fun. If you haven't played any rooms at this location, just play a different one.

The Legend of the Yeti is a good addition to the TEG lineup. Folks who have played Gold Rush will recognize the layout, but all of the puzzles and decor are entirely new. The game is relatively small, I would recommend a smaller group. The puzzles are multilinear and can be worked simultaneously. Fun winter effects and variety of puzzle modalities. I would have appreciated more clueing on one puzzle, but we got there in the end. Hamilton was a great host 😉
