I LOVE GOOOOOOOOOOOLD. Here I am, back in Ballarat with hate in my heart and treasure on my mind, I fear the long lost golden nugget never stood a chance. Shame. I found Escapade's newest venture, Eureka! to be a very quaint and charming game, with its narrative and content designed around a notorious piece of Ballarat's history; there was plenty to like! Although the puzzle flow didn't necessarily start too red-hot with a fair bit of reliance on simple hide and seek, the variety absolutely picked up in the back half which really improved the experience. From a storytelling perspective, I also really enjoyed being read a letter pre-game by our GM Ashley, as the manner in which it was written and delivered felt meaningful and gave my team and I a clear objective to follow, big tick. While I wouldn't say this is the strongest of the 3 rooms available here I think it still serves as a satisfactory family friendly play through with a lot going for it. Eureka?
