In 1830, the pirate brig Vineland was driven ashore off the coast of Coney Island after a violent chase. Word spread fast. Before authorities arrived, locals and scavengers swarmed the wreck, looting crates, weapons, and rumors of silver by lantern light. But the greatest prize was never claimed. By the time order was restored, the pirates had vanished—and so had the fortune in silver believed to be hidden somewhere beyond the reach of looters. One year later, the pirates were captured. They were hanged for their crimes— but the treasure was never recovered. Legend says the Hangman left one final clue before the noose tightened… a trail hidden from thieves, meant only for those brave—or foolish—enough to finish what the looters could not. You are that crew.

This was my first escape room and I must say, it inspired me to try the other ones. This one was my favorite, the set is so cool.

The clock was ticking from the moment we stepped inside, and the excitement never let up. This escape room delivered an unforgettable experience with clever challenges, an impressive setup, and a staff that made everything even more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

It was so fun and really had me thinking outside the box. The storyline contributed so much to the room. The key was teamwork. The customer service was an 11/10. Amazing

Superb experience at the Pirate’s adventure. Been in Coney for a while, never heard the lore of a buried treasure. Decent work on the pirate voice, and although I was a bit late, I found the treasure!!!

As someone who has completed over 200 escape rooms, I’m always on the lookout for experiences that truly stand out—and Captain Kidd absolutely does. Right from the start, the owner and her family created a welcoming, friendly atmosphere that made the experience even more enjoyable. Their passion clearly carries through into every detail of the room. Speaking of details—the set design is phenomenal. There are countless pirate-themed escape rooms out there, but this one truly takes the cake. The environment feels immersive, polished, and thoughtfully crafted, pulling you right into the adventure. The puzzles were well-designed and engaging throughout. The first puzzle is a bit tricky and may take a moment to crack, but don’t let that discourage you—once you get past it, the experience really opens up and becomes an absolute treat. This room strikes a great balance, making it perfect for both kids and adults. Whether you’re a seasoned player or bringing along family, Captain Kidd delivers a fun, memorable experience. Highly recommend!
