102 escape rooms
We have done all the Lock and Code rooms in Taunton which we were very impressed by. The ones in WSM are meant to be part of the same story but are a lot less ambitious in theme and scale. the theming of this room was quite basic. Some of the physical puzzle pieces were unclear and needed refreshing. There are a lot of red herrings and what was an actual puzzle didn’t flow very logically, we felt we had to rely on a lot of trial and error where in most other escape rooms that would feel like using a brute-force attack. One key actually opened two cupboards, leaving one puzzle redundant later. All the technology seemed to be playing up or was very slow. Unfortunate this resulted in a rather frustrating and demotivating experience, glad we did the Taunton rooms first or we would not have tried them based on this.
Gameplay
A lot of the puzzle materials seemed very old and in need of refreshing, and all the technology based puzzles seemed to have issues.
Atmosphere
Fine, not particularly innovative or interesting compared to other Lock and Code rooms we have done.
Customer service
Staff were very friendly and “on it” game wise
