The year is 1867. The town is Crystal River. It’s a rustlin’ bustlin’ wild west town full of travelers passing through and enjoying the local saloon. But not all these cowboys are fine, law-abiding citizens. Your gang of gun-slinging, gold stealing outlaws had a good run, but the sheriff finally rode up on y’all and now it ain’t lookin too good. The last train to Santa Fe leaves in one hour. You and your team must escape your jail cells, snag the loot and skip town. You have 60 minutes to get out of Dodge or your gun-slinging days are over.

While the first room in “Outlawed” provided a good physical challenge, the remaining spaces were a bit underwhelming, and at times, confusing. Many of the puzzles were dated and needed updating, which left us asking the GM to clarify many of the puzzles and clues. Our GM, Daniel, was fantastic and provided some comic relief during our experience.
The gameplay was linear, and the use of props in the first room was great! The game did not flow as well as other rooms I had experienced, and we had to receive clarification from the GM as to what clues/puzzles were needed for each space.
There was good use of props in this room. However, as the game progressed, we noticed that some of the props needed updating to ensure clear gameplay. The first room had a nice theme, but as the game progressed, it became less immersive and not clear that we were in the “Wild West.” The music was a nice touch!
The GM, Daniel, was fantastic! He is a great asset at “The Escape Company”

Overall, a pretty good game! If I had to give it a rating out of 10, I would say a six out of 10. I’ve seen some of the puzzles before, and I have been in rooms with this particular theme, so nothing super new or different. Our game master was really helpful, and, it was nice considering that the people that I was with were brand new to escape rooms in general. I like some little puzzles, especially where you go to get the keys. Something seemed a little typical of a western room, but otherwise a pretty solid room for people that are just starting off in escape rooms. If you or anyone that enjoys alcohol, it’s definitely a change of pace to be able to drink while you’re trying to escape. ☺️
It was a good game, the story made sense, there was some parts that needed a little push, but other than that, it was a pretty solid game.
The set design was typical of that in a western setting. Some of the aspects were OK, others were more creative than others.
Staff was great for the big party that we brought.

This game was probably a 6/10. Out of the 4 rooms I played here this was probably my least favorite as it was fairly simple in theming and game play. A great game for first timers or newer players to escape rooms.

Outlawed is my favorite of the two I’ve done at escape company. It’s very fun, very Wild West with theming and the use of puzzles.

Horrible experience from the beginning. The game master didn’t even walk us to the room. They just told us to go down to the door and walk inside. Then, another person was giving us hints, even though we had asked them not to unless we asked for them. She also had given us guidance not to open a certain lock, when we actually DID need to open that lock. We got out with plenty of time left but it just felt unprofessional and a waste of money.

Very immersive, engaging room with fun and unique puzzles. Seemed small and easy at first but it opens up into multiple rooms & a plethora of conjoining puzzles .
