You have been selected by the “UAC” (High Containment Unit) company as part of the support team assigned to the USS Station.  The mission: to take the K-16 shuttle , go to the station and collect as many samples as possible for later analysis.  Due to its current state, oxygen is scarce and radiation is very high , so it will only be possible to stay there for a limited time .  You're not a marine or an elite soldier. You're a technician, a scientist, an operator… civilian personnel. The work is yours; the safety, in theory, is someone else's.

We were lucky enough to get custom slot in English, so it was just our team of 3 players and the GM. This is probably a slightly different vibe than a normal, full game, so take this review with a grain of salt.

I loved Space Base - it was one of the top games of our Spain trip. When we finished, all of us wished we had time to immediately replay it. It's hard to compare to other escape rooms, since it's really not a traditional one: it's more like a challenge arcade but with an overworld and a monster prowling the halls, though I would describe it as more tension than horror. We had only one monster in our game, but it wouldn't surprise me if in a full game of 16 people there's more than one (or if they want to do hard mode or Halloween mode or something). This seems like such an obviously fun and replayable formula that I would be very surprised if there aren't more games like it in a few years. There's lots of obvious ways to extend or enhance gameplay, and I'm excited to see how this format evolves.

Groups are free to remain together or split apart, and tasks are escape room/challenge arcade-like. There's a ton of content (~70 puzzles) which seems almost impossible to complete in one run, much less your first (we finished 14). As far as I could tell, part of the input data for each puzzle is randomized, so answers should not be the same across games - you'll have to solve them each time.

The game is semi-cooperative - different teams are running around the same space, and are encouraged to give each other space and/or cooperate (though congregating might attract monsters), but it's not like you're shooting at each other.

While I've heard Space Base described as a roguelike, I don't think that's really accurate - from what I could see, the only thing that carries over across games is your knowledge, there's no items or perks or stats. However, I don't see any reason there couldn't be.

Wow! Absolutely a must-play and one of our top three rooms in over 35+ rooms on our Spain escape room trip. A game in a new category of escape games with an incredible number of puzzles, perfect level of tension and adrenaline-rushing thrill while solving very engaging and interesting puzzles/missions/quests scattered throughout an expansive space. The puzzles are very diverse, and there is something for everyone.

The game is replayable and we hope to be able to play again in the future.

We completed just a small fraction of the possible puzzles there were, but had an incredible time exploring the massive space and probably didn't even see some of the 70 puzzles/missions in its many nooks and crannies.

We would have loved to play this with a group of friends together or competing with different teams, but still had a blast as a duo.

The room was playable in Spanish and English and while we played in English. all videos played in Spanish and English and we had no problems playing with a Spanish group.
