36 escape rooms

This room would have been good… if it was built 10 years ago. A novel escape room but not worth full price. We might just have high standards after doing eclipse escape rooms yesterday but this room is the weakest out of the 15 we’ve done on the gc. We booked this room because it came out a few days ago and for a new room this has serious limitations. It’s one of the smallest rooms I’ve done with a small amount of puzzles to solve, I’ve done escape rooms in shopping centres that utilised space better than this room. One of the puzzles involved the lights going out, figuring out the next step afterwards might be worthwhile for new escape roomers but felt lacklustre and gimmicky to us. I’d recommend this room to a group of teenagers who want a spooky experience and don’t understand what an excellent escape room experience can be like.

Gameplay

We enjoyed one puzzle in this room which was a logic puzzle, several puzzles involved searching the room for numbers, we weren’t able to find two of them in two separate puzzles and resorted to guessing. The use of an electronic window was cleverly used in various ways

Atmosphere

Sound cues were loud and obvious, lighting made it difficult to see at times.

Customer service

Friendly staff!

Particularly interesting or different

No

Felt small, old school, and a worse version of the other side by fox in a box

Story

Cool story, watch out for grandfather!

Difficulty

Medium

Putting medium because a hide and seek puzzle isn’t necessarily hard, just annoying. The room was linear but not obvious what to do next which was also jarring

Game tech

A few locks but mostly electronic

Ideal number of players

6 people would be cramped, we did it with two and were still looking over each others shoulders at puzzles

Scary

Spooky

Loud noises, no jump scares

Was anything broken?

Yes

One puzzle had trouble triggering electronically, and another didn’t at all until the room reset (radio was left in the other room as I didn’t expect the door to be locked back to the first room)

Live actors

No

Physically active

Not at all

Easy to find location

Yes

Safety

Yes
