I respect the time and effort taken to get this room going by a new small business in their home, but I can’t in good faith recommend the room in its current state. I think there needs to be some extensive work done and safety reviews to get this to be worth $40 unfortunately.

Gameplay

I feel like there was not much flow to it. It needs better clues to give you a subtle direction. Uses the wand mechanic and black light way too much. Almost every puzzle relied on both things.

Atmosphere

It was bare bones. As a basement escape room I feel like everything that pointed to it being in someone’s basement needed to be covered up. Everything seemed cheap and thrown together. Was not immersive and only had a hint of the actual theme. I couldn’t tell you what the story and goal was if I hadn’t read it beforehand.

Medium

I feel like it was hard in not a good way. Hard because we weren’t sure what we were supposed to be doing. We did not expect to reuse the same things over and over.

Was anything broken?

Yes

Puzzle did stop working at the end. We also unfortunately did break something on accident while in the room not realizing what it was.

Safety

No

I felt like there were a lot of wires hanging everywhere that should’ve been tucked out of view, there was paper covering vent ducts which along with the amount of wires and things around made me question the safety. I felt like these were fire hazards. Basement was not tall enough for those maybe over 6 ft tall.
