The Haunted Hotel [prev. Escape Artist: The Final Seance]

They were so kind and accommodating when we were running a few mins late for our reservation! We were in the Idrive area and didn’t realize we booked a place in Downtown Orlando! 10/10 customer service!!

We were asked to confirm which reservation we had and then were left in the lobby with no information from anyone. No one came to talk to us for almost 20 minutes past our reservation time. One member of our group finally tried to knock on the office door to no answer and tried again a few minutes later where he was told someone would help us shortly and then the door was closed in his face. We were finally taken to our room and after we began we realized no time had elapsed on our clock, so I’m not sure when our time actually started or if they caught it up afterwards. Most of the room was fine until we were stuck with the same four locks for a while and tried to ask for a hint, but the screen was just blank. We tried multiple times for a hint and it kept coming up blank. Finally another member of our group had to leave the room and go ask an employee for help. We finished the room and asked what we had missed and were told that we had done everything correctly for the puzzle, but our game master didn’t see one of the items so they didn’t trigger it, even though that item was the first one to be placed.

Our GM, Joseph, was so nice and cool. He made the experience great.

I really like supernatural-esque stories so it was really interesting to me.

Puzzles flowed very linear. Only complaint is that sometimes things took a little long to trigger after we solved a puzzle.

Well themed room with some fun effects.

Dev was friendly but I wish he had explained the locks in the room prior. I have done over 30 rooms but encountered a few locks I have never seen before here. Usually a GM will go over the types of locks you will encounter.

Still very fun.

Fun story but not super original. I have played another Houdini themed room before.

Audio effects were hard to hear at times.

GPS takes you right there but you have to park elsewhere.

It's the parking garage around the corner. Be prepared to pay for parking. Anywhere from $4 up to $15. It cost more of events are occurring downtown.

Fun and flowed well. Puzzles were well-themed.

Set design, props and effects were completely immersive and well done.

Staff was great.

The Houdini theme was relatively new to our team. We had only played one other game with a Houdini theme and it was terrible. This one was everything we were expecting.

Inspired by the true events surrounding Houdini's death and his wife's continued efforts to contact him in the afterlife through an annual seance.

We played with two and had no issues

Fun spooky but not scary at all.

It was strictly linear with very few things able to be completed out of order.

The atmosphere was amazing! Favorite part was definitely the help buttons being a concierge bell! The ending was also phenomenal!

Staff was great!

I love how the game ended, in lieu of the typical, “you escaped!”
