Clockworks

The theming was cool but could lend itself to being so much more interesting, not actually having the room “travel in time” was a missed opportunity. Some of the puzzles didn’t quite work, particularly a shadow one that was illegible. This room being the most difficult doesn’t quite make sense, the burlesque room was much harder. For a room that has complex puzzles, it is weird when some of the answers are shockingly dumb, with this being “hard” we were expecting to work with more challenging puzzles, so we ended up always spending more time thinking it was more than just “read it backwards” or something dumb. It was fine, but probably comes second in my mind at this venue

I felt like it was a bit old and tired. There were a few puzzles that felt like you couldn’t have worked it out logically, we needed a couple of clues. Overall it wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t great

Cool theme and set up. Though one particular puzzle could use some improvement to become solvable for everyone rather than “you either see it or you don’t”.

Clockworks has some great ideas at its core. I really enjoyed the feel and the mechanical puzzles, which felt creative and well suited to the concept. Being allowed extra time to complete the room was also a big plus and helped reduce pressure. With that being said, one of the puzzles definitely needs a little TLC and the overall flow could be improved. There were moments where it wasn’t clear what we should be focusing on next, which broke immersion. The room would benefit from a bit of a facelift and clearer structure to better guide players through the experience. Overall, it was an average room.

An amazing physical puzzle room! I hope Escapexperience eventually create some new rooms because the minds on that team are some of the most creative. Huge props to them all!

The sequel to the “Original Escape Room” in Flemington, Clockworks has a lot to like. Intricate puzzles that encourage a wide array of lateral thinking, super mechanical and leans into this in a great way. Some very unique puzzles, be prepared to take a bit of time mulling over each one as we did. As other reviews have mentioned, I really do love to be able to interact with 90%+ of things in a room so having nearly an entire wall adorned “do not touch” feels a bit old school at discouraging. Overall a good room that unfortunately has many of the old school knocks, maybe a face lift could be due.

This room was cool! An old school lock a key room, but some cool puzzles that we haven’t seen before that don’t rely on technology. Puzzles went well with the theming, and the room flowed together well. This room unfortunately fell into the trap of decorating with 100s of items and covering 99% of them in do not touch signs which is a bit disappointing to see, a redesign could really help with the immersion here. Our game master was great and overall this room was a solid 6.5/10.

The spiritual successor to the Original Escape Room in Flemington, Clockworks captures the same traditional rustic vibe as its counterpart but with plenty of new tricky additions, it’s really good fun! A moderate space, the room is decked out with an awesome assortment of authentic props and trinkets, it’s just a shame most of them aren’t able to be interacted with. It’s a true classic “mechanical” room in every sense with quirky handmade puzzles and locks galore, the flow demands some real attention to detail to succeed. Certain puzzles could use a facelift to add more wow factor but there’s still plenty to like about this one. 6.9/10 🔏🧩

Very intricate room. LOTS of puzzles, we felt pushed to get through but flowed nicely. A couple of trickier parts, but some really nice and fun elements. A very good challenge and very memorable
