The Pyramid

Loved the atmosphere here. Rarely see a Mayan themed escape room. Sadly, the room is in a state of disrepair. We experienced a few malfunctions that our GM had to trigger or fix. There’s no screen in the room, instead your GM stands in the room with you to give hints if needed. It’s a really weird thing especially since our GM was resetting the room behind us as we went through the room. His hints were also really hard to understand. We made it to the final room before we encountered another malfunction that caused us to be unable to get out. Overall, fun theme with some cool effects but the staff are clearly understaffed and the room needs some TLC.

HOLY FUN!! genuinely one of the biggest rooms i’ve ever done. hardest room at this location. we did it with two people and got out with 50 sec left with one puzzle bypass. it’s doable but definitely would suggest coming with at least 4 people. the puzzles are a bit worn down but i personally didn’t think it ruined the experience. the puzzles r a lot of decoding so if that’s not ur thing then probably pass on this room. when u think it’s over trust me…ITS NOT. so many cool surprises!! i will definitely be trying the other games here. so so fun and immersive!

Once again, this location provides incredible set design. Even though this game has clearly seen its fair share of love over the years, the quality of everything you interact with still feels super well-made and solid. GM Sam is incredible, and makes these experiences super memorable. The puzzles were pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking in how you are interacting with the room. What is groundbreaking however, is how you interact with the set design. There are multiple parts that just feel plain cool to interact with and cause things to happen to. A great set design, with solid puzzles, made even better by a great GM.

There’s a lot to love about this room. The space is expansive and every time that you think that you must be in the last room, you are surprised that it keeps going. The puzzles were multi-layered and on theme and there are so many of them to do. The set is really impressive and most of the props are as well. A few minor complaints are that some of the props are simple laminated paper and it really clashes with the rest of the room which is so well made. Also, like all of their rooms, the GM is in the room with you, which is just awkward.

Loved it! This one was really fun all around straight forward no issues escape. Even though it’s their hardest, we were able to complete with only 3 people. Nice solid escape room. No complaints, and some really cool moments especially in the second room! Go play it! Big shout out to Sasha who made this a great time

The production is solid. For a game that has been around for this long, you can see some wear and tear but the flow and the actual puzzles still hold up in the quality of experience. The challenge level for the Pyramid is apparently the highest compared to the other rooms they have at this location. Having played the others, I personally think Black Dragon, one of their newer escape rooms, is harder just by sheer number of puzzles. I wish our game master was a tad bit warmer in his reception but he was present the entire time and gave us clarification when needed. It’s a fine room but not a standout. I did find the constellation puzzle unique to the usual Mayan theme but everything else is not as memorable. The last room allowed for some dividing and conquering so a group of 4-5 is a good number of people to bring for this experience. Parking here is difficult because it’s located in downtown LA so plan accordingly.

i liked the whole vibe of the place it made it feel more real and fun would come again !

We really enjoyed this room. Visually the environment is immersive and interesting to explore, though some puzzle mechanisms are showing their age. The superb staff member with us did a great job of rolling with any issues while staying “in character”, and also gave us some good nudges when we missed something. It was challenging for our team of two experienced escapers and we nearly failed, but this made it satisfying. Black Dragon remains my favourite room here, but this was a good one.

This was so much fun. A great set, engaging puzzles, and a good story. I highly recommend this one!

Was planning on playing all three rooms here but unfortunately Atlantis was booked out :(. Pyramid was very immersive and the theme was great. The puzzles were unique however so.e required a bit more brain power than I could muster, but fortunately the other memners in the crew picked up for my slack. This was our first game at Escape Room LA. The way they handled the hints for us was unique and creative. We really appreciated this method which makes it more immersive. This is their most difficult and ultimately, we managed to escape with 17 seconds remaining with a crew of 3!
