Mr Pepper’s Toy Shop

WOW the puzzling design and room reveals were jaw dropping! The puzzles aren’t hard for enthusiasts and everything made sense. The puzzling was what made this an amazing room for me. Everything is done so creatively and blends into the room design seamlessly. There’s a good amount of gen 1 locks that never detract from the experience of the room. This room is highly regarded by many enthusiasts as the best and it didn’t disappoint. The use of space and story line was amazing. Creepy without being scary.

Made my first visit to the Cipher room with a friend of mine who hasn’t done many escape rooms. We found the Toy Shop to be a lot of fun, with some good but not terrifying scares. The puzzles and storyline flowed well and the ending was very well constructed. Highly recommend giving this one a go and I’ll certainly be back to play more next time I’m in Sydney!

Fun, deeply thematic puzzles, really clean and impressive production quality and effects. Spooky but not scary!

Mr pepper was really fun, all the puzzles were creative and satisfactory to complete. When it does use padlocks, it was easy to match code to lock, which we really appreciated. Gamemaster's vibe was great and the flow was once again, top notch. It definitely was of the creepy atmosphere rather than horror territory with the mounting tension being quite impressive.

I loved this room! I did this with only one other person, so it was definitely a bit more challenging than if we had more, but it was so fun! I am not even very good with scary stuff, and it definitely was a little scary; but they lean into the creepy imagery well, and some of the puzzles are so impressive that I was distracted from my fear haha! An awesome location too, very atmospheric vibe throughout the whole place.

Ending added the cherry on top😉

I'm a bit surprised by all of the hype tbh. The room was definitely very good, but perhaps I'm a bit spoilt being from Canberra where it feels like all of the rooms are a very high standard. The finale was a standout, and some of the puzzles were quite clever, but overall it didn't blow my mind.

Played this room twice now, once in 2021 and the other in 2025 because the puzzle design is just top-notch. It is also the only room i've ever played twice. It starts out with a solid, creepy vibe, but the tension really builds and gets even more 'cursed' as you progress to the next rooms. Even without any live actors, the atmosphere manages to be truly terrifying, and there are a few small jump scares to watch out for. Cipher Rooms always deliver the best finales, and this one didn't disappoint either time. Highly recommended if you want a genuine thrill. What an awesome room and experience! The puzzles in the room flow very well! I love non-linear rooms and this room does a great job with providing your team with several different puzzles to work on at the same time. All the puzzles in the room follow a toy theme from start to end which further adds to the immersion of the room. The puzzles flow very well and you always know which solutions are for which padlock! The set is creepy and unnerving but I would not say its that its that scary so most groups will generally be fine. There are also no jumpscares in the room as well but there are moments where the lights do go off for some cool effects. The ending of the room really wowed us and probably the coolest ending that I have seen for an escape room!
