Rating: 4/5 - Super realistic set with a fun ending Pros: ➕Wow, the set makes you feel like you're on an actual plane, there are special effects and real airplane components. ➕ The storyline was enjoyable and made me smile, better than many of their other rooms. ➕ There are multiple endings, make sure to ask your GM afterwards how the other ones play out ➕ There are new areas to open up despite the smaller set. ➕ Mix of mechanical locks and tech, the locks feel appropriate to the theme. ➕ Some hidden surprises. ➕ Props and set pieces were high quality and felt realistic. ➕ Hints are delivered via a character in the room (pre-recorded audio). ➕ Audio, video, and lighting effects added to the immersion. ➕ Set was well lit, no flashlights needed. ➕ GM was friendly and helpful. Room for improvement: ➖ Too many locks/combos of the same type, it felt repetitive ➖ Too many puzzles for the size of the room. We felt like we did need 4-5 people to solve all the puzzles in 1 hour but the set is cramped in many areas (since it's sized like a real airplane) so that only a couple people could fit. ➖ Puzzles were fine but could've been better, some weren't the most intuitive for us. I wish more of the puzzles were better integrated into the set instead of relying on lockboxes. There was also a lot of text to parse through. We played as a team of 5 enthusiasts and it took us almost the full hour. Make sure you are not afraid to ask for hints, also tell the game master to nudge you when you get behind. Some puzzles were a bit challenging, I wouldn't recommend this for beginners. My ranking of all 8 rooms here: 1. Cutthroat Cavern ❤️ 2. Tomb of Anubis ❤️ 3. Spellbound ❤️ 4. Disappearance of Flight 13 ❤️ 5. The Asylum ❤️ 6. The Collector 👍 7. Agent 13 👍 8. Death Row👍

Based on the puzzles, we needed at least 4. Based on the size of the set, it would be better for 2-3.

I felt like I was on a plane about to crash during a takeover, it felt intense. The abundance of locks and codes made it especially challenging. The puzzles weren’t my favorite style, but given the storyline and theme, I don’t think they could have been done much better.

This has to be the worst room at 13th Gate. The room did look like an airplane, but it was so cold we needed coats. We had to be told how to operate the seatbelts after we sat there for a good 15 minutes strapped in. We found a key but when we put it in the only keyhole it would fit, it would not turn, so we wasted more time looking for another keyhole only to be told that the lock on the door didn't turn and you had to shove the door open. Then there were clothes in the game which did nothing but were put in places where you would think should have something to do with the game. This game made no sense and deserves a big thumbs down.

Possibly my favorite room here. Whereas the others impress with their impressive scale, this one cleverly packs a lot into a confined area.

Design of this room was amazing. Really felt like you were on an airplane. Gameplay though was not so great. We apparently skipped a step, which broke the game. We had to leave the room and wait for it to be reset. Really broke the immersion. So as much as I wanted to love this game, technical difficulties kind of ruined it for me.

Another great 13th gate game. Technically, we didn’t escape as time expired as we were finishing the final step, but they did allow us to finish and experience the ending. Great set design! Nice, mostly intuitive puzzles. Smaller groups recommended. They have a 4 person minimum, but I would do much more than that. Easily my #3 favorite (behind Cutthroat and Spellbound).

This game was very cool. There were so many puzzles to solve. I’d say this room was certainly difficult, but it moved quickly once we really got started. The design was something very unique.
