A PARTY FOR THE AGES As part of your friend’s 30th birthday, you’ve decided to rent a shack up north to celebrate the occasion. Friday afternoon you get a video message from your friends who have already made it and encouraging you to get there as quickly as possible to enjoy the beautiful environment over there. The moment of your arrival will truly signal the start of the party but everything seems too good to be true. In your head, nothing can come between you and this crazy fiesta. Unfortunately, you always have to plan for the worst, as unbelievable as it can be...

We heard a lot of people played this one because it’s the prequel to Immersia’s newest room, The St-Onge case, and while that’s certainly a good reason to play it, it’s actually a great game that’s worth playing in its own right! Slick slasher vibes and Saw-style puzzles, including one we had never seen before. Solid set and terrific immersion, with high quality in-game videos; even the intro video going through the room rules was part of the story. And it definitely made The St-Onge Case, which we played later on the same day, an even better experience.

I loved this room. The puzzles were interesting, there was an element that I’ve never seen before, there were some really fun parts that immersed me into this game.

Pretty nice but relatively easy for a group of experienced players. We finished the scenario in around 30 minutes (counting times where we don't actually play because of videos). 1 of the 5 players also did pretty much nothing during the scenario. It is best suited for more beginner groups ofle groups of 2-3 players max in my opinion.
Basic but coherent

Really enjoyed this experience. The storytelling was creatively done, and it didn’t distract from the game flow. The puzzles were varied (including one that changes the story outcome a bit). We are looking forward to playing the sequel tomorrow.

Good game, despite a minor bug with the equipment

By itself I thought this was a fine game, but it's also the lead in to St-Onge Case, another game at Immersia. While it's not strictly necessary to play this to enjoy St-Onge Case, I did think I got more out of that game because I had played this one. This is a creepy horror game that some players might find more intense than many others in the market. The set is immersive, and there's a tense sequence in the second area that I haven't seen before. Puzzles fit into the story/world well.

4 enthusiasts + 1 moderately experienced player felt like too much. 4 or maybe 3 total players would probably be right.
Spooky
Mostly spooky, but one section is arguably scary and another can be tense if players are willing to go along with the conceit.

One of the best "creepy cabin" games I've played. Great storytelling mechanic. Very immersive. A little too easy for experienced players.

Thanks VeganGameGuy for your review. Glad you enjoyed the Weekend at the Shack. I'm pretty confident that the sequel available at our Boisbriand location (St-Onge Case) will be a bit more challenging for experienced players.
